  1. Don't believe everything they say... I've heard that those who have joined these schemes have found that once the lawyers have taken their cut of the fees there could be bugger all left as a payout. Also, should the class action prove unsuccessful and the lawyers therefore not have their fees paid by VW (or the settlement be insufficient to cover legal fees) then those who signed up will find themselves liable instead. Personally I think the whole thing is rather like Ambulance Chasing for the legal teams involved and is simply being done as a money making scheme to create 'fees' - so wouldn't go near it with a bargepole... Also, it seems you are of a similar nature given you haven't identified any financial loss you have incurred personally that requires recompense...
  2. What are you claiming for? ie what financial damages have you incurred that require recompense?
  3. You wouldn't believe it was possible to make an already ugly car even uglier... but they've managed it!
  4. Blimey... That's close to my mates record... He collected his new car, drove it from the forecourt round the block to the petrol station (literally about 100 yards up the road) and was reversed into by a hgv
  5. As per the title - just seen the Pi 400 and soooo tempted to try it at £70... Don't know why but it just appeals and takes me back to being a kid when things like the Sinclair ZX80 / ZX81 / Spectrum and the like were new...
  6. Daft question but do these use a standard 'starter motor' arrangement for the stop start? If so then I'd anticipate it is a much heavier duty one that can withstand the extra use. O only ask as I have Stop/Start on the Swift but it uses a separate belt driver motor/generator for the motor assist and stop/start function and the traditional 'starter motor is only used for the initial start-up for each journey.
  7. Same here!
  8. What sort of rattle? If it's a light tinny rattle we've had a few of those and they've been exhaust heat shields or brake disc splash guards working loose
  9. Count me in there... It was a yellow VW beetle and I was watching the chain alignment on the rear cassette
  10. I had a look at the specs of the Suzuki Rav4 a week or so ago just out of interest... they are pretty high but the major off-put was a CVT box, alongside the price!
  11. Oh... was expecting something a bit more 'interesting' and less ubiquitus
  12. It'd better not be a letdown after all this anticipation...
  13. Presumably you had a test drive before purchase? Was the test car different?
  14. Yep been there and done that. Reasons were similar-ish in as much as we found we had more than enough to cope with with my youngests epilepsy and other issues and couldn't risk another kid with a similar condition that at that stage we thought was genetically inherited. My wife had also had two difficult pregnancies and births. In terms of the op it was all quick and easy just a little weird with the smell of cauterising (think burning yourself with a soldering iron) and some numbness and bruising after. It did take a while to get an 'all clear' though... In terms of 'emotions' it was good to have it done and remove the thoughts in the back of your mind about stuff... So good in that repect but otherwise no great shakes or difference as our concerns were and are different to yours.
  15. Got a friend who's just purchased a Corsa-e over the e-208.. just waiting for delivery. Would be interesting to compare notes George.
  16. That's 'cos your body then acts as a big aerial to transmit the signal from the fob in one hand to the door in the other... However, the best method I've found is place the transmitter on your chin and press the button...
  17. In my experience they'd better ban most Audi's from the roads then - some of their rear lights (especially Brake Lights) are blinding (even more so when in a low vehicle such as my MX-5...)
  18. If you've got low voltages around the car have you checked all the earth straps
  19. Not sure about anyone else but I'm loving the look of the Cyan Racing P1800... https://www.cyanracing.com/news/2020/09/02/revealing-the-volvo-p1800-cyan

Not good... Some people don't seem to be able to control their posts or realise the effect they can have...

Doh... Another one leaving because they've had enough of the animosity?

Ah I see... There's about a dozen on the first three or four pages that are 1.4 boosterjet allgrip autos from what I can see but all will be pre reg as all Suzuki's are now mild hybrid iirc. For info I have a swift hybrid and it really is an excellent system and a great little car...

  24. Useful to know as we regularly fill the Octy boot when travelling as my daughter is on a medical diet so we have to take the vast majority of her food with us as well as medication etc...
  25. A lot of newer cars don't even have a gauge - just a blue light on the dashboard for 'cold' and a red one for 'too hot'...
