  1. 123D personally, if someone else was paying! The 330 is just a bit big and heavy to be fun, great motorway car though. Really just depends what you want from the car. Mini Cooper S is more economical than some of the cars on that list so dont discount petrol cars in this day and age either.
  2. Thanks, but its a bit short notice for both work and letting my wife know im off for a week TBH.
  3. An old thread of mine! How does the SW sound all the way back there? It was just about enough for me but I had mine under the drivers seat...
  4. You dont need to pay for that either!
  5. Van Aaken is a good brand of tuning box too, very popular over the pond on big deisel pickups.
  6. You can get a full black (or any other) skin for the 360, buy the 120 HDD, so its only really for the HDMI...there isnt that much difference between that and the VGA HD Cable. Bit mad really (JMHO, dont take offence); I'd spend the money on a Wii or PS3.
  7. welcome good cars the fabia vrs's
  8. Huey Lewis and the News. An almost perfect 80s blend of brass instruments and guiiiiiitarrrr! It's the song that's played at the end when the credits are rolling :geek:
  9. Watch out for the Superb with the 2.0TDI engine in it, I read a thread on here where someone has had some real issues with the car, the DPF I think in particular. Worth a read, this person was very concerned about costs of keeping fixing this recurring problem once the warranty expired.
  10. So a bit of bodywork plus a little paint? Can you post a pic of it? I would try chipsaway first off and then they will tell you if its beyond them. Probably
  11. If you dont know what your car is phone Audi and give them the VIN, they will be able to tell from that what state of tune your tdi is. dont always trust the badges on the badge sometimes people change them for ones with the red T and D and I
  12. I've not driven the Superb but Shifty's probably not wrong. Personally I thought the OctyII might be the better car because it's newer. I've thought about a Superb myself and looked at a 55 plate light met blue 2.5 elegance that was at the Blackpool dealers for a while late last year. No doubt about it, it's a gorgeous car. I would imagine the Volvo is a very good car too. I've driven the V70, it's quite quick and very comfy in there. The Superb owners describe it as a magic carpet on the motorway. I don't have any reason to not believe that. The only other thing I would add is that having an auto on a lot of big diesels really seems to sap power. It is the same on the BMW 330 - the auto uses 25% more diesel, and you get quite near petrol BMW fuel consumption so why have the diesel. The manuals are alright, I think I used to get 42 on the motorway and 35 round town in mine, and the VAG 2.5 isn't going to be far off that MPG wise. I went from a Fabia vRS to the 330d and you will notice the extra consumption, but it's not that bad and the big car feel makes up for it (and the 300lbft)
  13. ETA: ^^ Good point Chris Took the words... Yeah what Loz said, lol! Go over on jabbasworld and hit the political forum over there, my Texan friend RC45 will have lots of fun debate with you!
  14. I've scanned through this thread and not read it in detail but... Despite the gist and the little jokes I lived there and like any place you have one or two twits but generally they are cool people. Much like our government a lot of people dont really agree with a lot of the policies that get made so don't think what the USA does as it goes about it's business is a representative view of the likes of people like us chatting on forums, most are pretty reasonable if not a little too patriotic sometimes. I agree about the whole 'Operation Iraqi Liberation (OIL)' war thing and so do a lot of US citizens too.
  15. Ha! my 6 year old laptop struggles with games like simcity and civilization 3... I think this would kill it. The little chip would pack up its things and be seen leaving via one of the case vents. I think I will stick with my xbox on this one lol
  16. Nice motor, things like this (medium and large ford/vaux/renault etc cars) are always a great buy after the first year or so. Vectras arent bad cars, I've had the 3.0TD Elite for a weekend and it was fine. The satnav screen was a bit small though. Edit: at the end of the day its a one year old car, looking at VAG cars I posted above they were all 3 or 4 years old. Good deal. Drove past a VXR on the motorway today, dont see many of them about and it looked pretty mean. Looked like a company car too, dont fancy the blokes income tax bill though
  17. Hayselden Skoda? That's where my Fabia came from, and now lives back in Harrogate with her new owner. YR06CGX
  18. These things are great for company cars (that you're not allowed to remap, of course)
  19. I'll be quite honest, I don't really fancy a beer but as I have no smoke then I guess 'it'll do' *cracks open a Grolsch*
  20. It's not illegal, per se, but I can certainly see your point. Colne's not far away from you so vote with your feet!
  21. Graham, I hope you're not encouraging afternoon drinking again. I have a coffee here but I am tempted to join you in the bar! Nowt wrong wit pint glass neither!
  22. I've got a Saab (for the weekend) on the drive with 2500 miles on it, brand new. It is doing the same thing 'time for service warning' yet the car is only a couple of months old (judging by the tax disc) wierd.
