  1. The sound generator shouldn't make an external noise like that surely? I'm pretty sure my vrs tsi doesn't.
  2. Now that does sound good!! Do you mind me asking where you bought it from?
  3. Thank you. Apart from the burble on gear changes it's difficult to hear any difference in the video. Any chance of hearing the Milltek from the outside on idle / revs?
  4. Please do give us the link to the video...I need a cure for my 220bhp motor that sounds like a 1.1 Fiesta!!
  5. In my dsg tsi vrs I get approx 36mpg on shortish journeys and low 40's on longer journeys. I have had 47mpg on one trip. You do have to take it easy to get those sort of figures though. I've done around 3k miles so I guess it should get a little better. Far more fun sticking it in sport/paddles and giving it large though!!!
  6. Mk3 vrs seats are more comfortable than the mk2 imo (had leather in both). The mk3 seats feel a little bit wider...
  7. My thoughts exactly. Sport mode just seems to thrash the crap out of it before changing gear. Good to knock it into sport for a quick sprint but otherwise manual mode with the paddles is far more user friendly when wanting to drive quickly.
  8. Race blue looks awesome and is not as common as you may think. Black looks great when clean but shows up scratches and dirt far too easily, grey is far too common on the roads today (try counting how many grey cars you see on an average journey). White or silver looks good and is easy to keep clean....... Conclusion?.....race blue, or white!!
  9. The vrs is a nice looking car....Depends on your personal taste and needs I guess. I'd have the vrs over the scout but it's a personal choice.
  10. That's a bit unnecessary. He only asked a perfectly sensible question. The standard set up on the vrs does look as though it could do with lowering a tad and the wheels sitting slightly wider. Many of the people on this forum have added spacers etc.
  11. Stick with the blue!. The grey looks dull unless it's nice and sunny (and clean). Plus every other car on the road is grey nowadays!!
  12. Just use the button. Takes less than 2 seconds each time you start the car.
  13. Good advice. I clean and treat my leather 2 - 3 times a year. Keeps it nice and supple.
  14. It was part of the winter pack when I ordered Nov 14 but it was no where near £600!! Sure it was only about £200. Heated leather seats are soooo worth it!
  15. The 19" wheels are no more harsh riding than the 18's. No difference at all between the car I test drove and mine. Also, swmbo claims the leather seats are more comfortable than the cloth. Also much easier to clean!
  16. The 19" wheels are £260 each without tyres I believe so their not a cheap retro fit. Must admit I'd have liked the pano roof but it was a little too expensive with the number of extras I'd already added! I'd have the wheels over the roof though.
  17. Got the heated screen on my TSI vRS. It's fantastic!
  18. The ride isn't harsh at all on my estate vrs with 19" wheels. Looks like a good spec to me!
  19. How ****e are their IT department if they can't prepare the update offline and update the car configurator overnight?
  20. I find the ride on the 19's pretty good. No different to the 18's. I think they really suit the car.
  21. I ain't old enough yet for a caravan!!
  22. Those of us that need acres of space for camping equipment perhaps. I could probably only get a crap 4 man Halfords tent in the golf. In my book that makes the Octavia much more desirable!
  23. Managed 61mpg in my old mk2 vrs CR (30 mile motorway journey). So far managed a max of 42mpg in my mk3 vrs TSI (same journey). It's a lot more fun though!!
  24. The leather seats seem pretty nice to me!! I found them more comfortable than the cloth seats. Especially nice when heated on a cold morning!
