  1. I used example quotes from Carwow and drivetehedeal to get a 13% discount at my local dealers and a very good px price. Petrol VRS,taken delivery today.
  2. I've had back surgery this week and as a result my new vrs is being delivered to me tomorrow rather than me picking it up (not able to drive for a few weeks). From a back problem point of view its the driving position itself rather than the ride that matters as this is what puts stress on your back. In my case I've opted for the dsg to save my left leg having to make hundreds of gear changes as it was the left side of my disc that ruptured! Having said that a smooth ride is always welcome! I'll let you know what I think of the 19's in a few weeks.
  3. My new vrs tsi is available to pick up Sunday, however I've had a lower back operation today and I'm unable / not allowed to drive for up to 6 weeks! (Was only expecting a few days out of action). Luckily the dealer has been great and will deliver it to me at home.i suspect there's gonna be a lot of drooling going on out on my driveway for the next few weeks!! Gives me time to read the user manual I guess! Ggrrggh
  4. Down to your own preference. I ordered the black pack plus so I could get the 19" extremes. Also I do happen to prefer the race blue with the black pack!
  5. Doesn't the black surround come as part of the black design plus pack along with the 19" wheels Allan?
  6. Exactly right. The mk2 looks good at the front but the rest of the look is achieved with nice alloys and twin exhausts. I get my mk3 on Sunday so I'll reserve full judgement until then but I think the mk3 vrs looks pretty smart. The 19" extreme alloys do help set it off though, I was never hooked on the standard alloys for some reason.
  7. I personally prefer the look of the estate over the hatch. I thought the wheel options are good though. The 19" extremes look pretty mean. I also think the mk2 is starting to look a little dated, especially as most manufacturers have brought out new updated models. The mk3 has slowly grown on me!
  8. You can keep your Dacia Logan or whatever that is! Providing you drive a Decent discount on the mk3 TSI then it's still a good priced car.
  9. Got a good deal on my Blackline too. As much as I love the Blackline I've got a faster better equipped vRS on the way in just 7 days.
  10. I only got 15k out of the conti 2's on my mk2 Blackline (admittedly) not as bad as your 7.5k. Never rated the conti 2 particularly, front traction was always awful.
  11. I also thought that every other Octy is Race Blue, however in practice I've not seen a single mk 3 race blue vRS on the roads since I ordered mine last year - loads of white but then you don't have to pay extra for white. I'd originally ordered metal grey but the more I looked at it the more it looked too dark so I changed to race blue. If my current Blackline hadn't already been white then I'd have probably gone for white.....but fancied a change!
  12. They are more expensive, I looked around at others but for me very few cars have the boot space of the Octavia. I could pay more and get a 5 series and have less boot...The C class looks like good value, depends on your needs I guess!
  13. 2nd for Bilt Hamber Auto Wheels. Got some this week and it brought up the wife's Cooper S wheels a treat with minimal effort.
  14. Initially ordered metal grey but the more I looked at it the more I thought it was just too dark. By process of elimination I changed it to race blue!
  15. Does it make any difference selecting ECO / Normal / Sport? I'm fed up of being sensible and watching mpg (plus I only do relatively short journeys) - hence the move from the diesel Blackline to a new vRS TSI DSG estate on 1st March - guess I know what to expect now but I'm going to have more fun doing it!
  16. Excellent news - many thanks for confirming.
  17. I'll have a closer look at the new style badges when the new beast arrives in 2 weeks. Thought I was in the minority by not initially liking the new style but perhaps not..
  18. Might be a question for the dealer really....when I picked up my Blackline the dealer gave me 7 days free insurance (meaning I didn't have to worry about swapping over my insurance on the exact day of pick up ). Do Skoda still offer 7 days free insurance on the new Octy? Due to pick mine up in 2 weeks!
  19. Is it just me or does the new badge look a bit like Vauxhall? I might be one of the few that prefers the old green badge ....
  20. That might mean mines at the dealers already...might go and have a look.......1st March isn't that long away!!!
  21. Yours should almost be at the dealers by now! I ordered mine 23rd November, was built w/c 19th Jan and was expected in the country the week before last (not picking up until 1st March so not fussed about chasing to see if its arrived at the dealers yet!). Mine was also a vRS estate (TSI), originally ordered in metal grey but I changed my mind to race blue, with a few extras.
  22. Certainly did thanks. Went to the dealer having done my research on prices available via Carfile etc and the dealer matched it. So far, I'm very impressed with them, been getting weekly updates since November!!
