ANOTHER tyre question

Featured Replies

I'm convinced I must have got a rogue set of Conti's then, as mine gripped for dear life and I found them to be more than adequate for the car.

What threads like this tell us is really quite useful - that batches of tyres produced must vary quite a bit more in quality than we think.

I hated the Contis I had on a Focus about 4 years ago - they didn't grip and I'll probably never Contis to another car. And contary to your findings, I've found T1-Rs to be brilliant; in different sizes on different cars - same result.

Yep, must be a differing of quality then, Conti's were great for me (still are on the rear) whereas the T1-Rs were good at best.

I'd quite happily have a new set all round again, although the Nexen 3000's are performing well at present.

Off to buy a front set of toyo's this morning for 150 all in from a guy in tillicoultry. The Sport Contacts from new (2006) have done 21k and are almost illegal,,, wouldve like to got a new set but quotes were scarey for them, so we will see.

Hope i dont regret going for nexen,s.

One guy tried to sell me eagle gsd3' but from what i can tell these are not reinforced tyres,,,, am i right here ??

Got all 4 done in the end,,,, but got a problem

Before i go back to the guy,, i'd like peoples opinions to make sure im right in what i say

The steering wheel is shaking slightly now at high speed,, this is due to not balancing the wheels correctly ,,yeah ??

And the car is pulling slightly to the left,, this is down to tracking ??

All advice gratefully received !!
