Briskoda 24 Hour 2CV Team

Featured Replies

Those of us on the little Welsh pootle last night were discussing about how much fun it would be to enter the 24hour 2CV race next year.

Is anyone interested?

Cars are fairly cheap but the main outlay seems to be for a National B licence for racing.

What do people think about this, it would be a good way to advertise the site and have a good laugh at the same time.

Details are ont he website below.

i'd be up for a bit of fun like that. Has anyone got a 2cv??

Cost about a grand all in to get the car and get it up to spec.

seen quite a few "doner" cars on e-bay, there are a few with spare engines and boxes, for not much

Just spoke to richorton, and he said he would be interested too in helping out and driving.

So that 3 people interested in the team.

Anybody else?

si

How much does it cost to get a racing licence?

national b licence only costs about

We don't just need drivers either.

We'll need more than one person (Rich) who is good with a hammer.

I could be interested.

In one of the first issues of Race & Track Car (CCC replacement) their was a article about getting your race National B.

Maybe we could run a 2 car team??

not my scene...

Or a 3!!

Count me in as a defo...as discussed last night. It's one of my dreams,to hopefully become reality. Only prob I may encounter is the medical, but would be willing to take the chance in paying and finding out.

u don't need a medical for a nat b licence.

si

You totally sure about that Si? I was under the impression that ANY race licence required you to have a FULL medical. Got to have the racing ability test at a circuit too I think. Can't remember what that's called now.

Will dig the old blue book out and scour the pages.

Praps Scrutineer would know of the top of his head for sure

You need a medical according to the 2CV site.

Might say might be able to secure a citroen mechanic into the fold

Will have to ask,but he's always game for a hoot, providing it doesn't clash with his sons motorbike racing.

i have just figure out why i haven't had to have a medical for mine. My nat b is classed as a non-race licence (i know that doesn't sound like it makes sence, but those with licences will understand)

My nat b is used for autotesting, rallycross etc..(none circuit events) there is a different one for "racing" which u are right, u do need a medical.

looks like i would need to speak to the MSA about changing my licence to a "race" version. i'm due to upgrade to a nat A licence soon anyway.

I would be up for a little hammer wielding :D

I wouldn't mind doing a bit of spannering but it might be a bit awkward for some people so we'll have to see how it goes.

One thing I will promise you is that if you all decide to do this Andy (Spinndrift) will throw himself into 110% like he does with all his projects - whilst at the same time worrying about stepping on everyones toes.

Love to help, but I'm a crap driver and an even worse mechanic.

Snap but it will be a laugh so long as Si doesn't roll it.

Is this to check youre sanity !!

Sounds a blast but not my scene, good luck

And anyone over 40 , who is driving also needs a stress related ECG .
