Dels and steve would get pwnd by a bogo fq400 aswell, by the time either of those crazy money pits had caught it the evo would of been bouncing of the rev limiter for about a week.

A VRS 180 as bogo is a great cheep motor i use mine as a daily runner (well did) and practical, the insides are **** (who thought of white carpet) the dash is more bogo then a tata, but its kinda fast and is comfy a kind of sleeper, remap it change loads of bits and it wakes up abit nothing sensational.

a bogo prezza or EVO are built to be fast everything points that way Skoda made the VRS more as the flagship car not as the fast car yall seem to think.

this convosation is EXACTLY the same as the old i got a Jabba map and i got 250BHP, urrrrmm no you dont you have 210 more then likely.

the Evo's especialy up to 155 MPH are near and in the FQ400's case in the super car performance bracket and no matter what unless the driver is 1 you wont beat it never ever its impossible to think and your making a nob of yaself to say so.

Prezza's are ok but i hate the noise and the image.

EVO's prolly mk 7 onwards are the more upmarket fast car IE if you earned 10k more a year you would have and be able to run it..

Just to return to the original post of remapped vrs Vs scooby/evo, I'm making the assumption that we're talking about similar age cars, therefore you'd have no chance. Simple.

Listen to Corradoboy, he knows his stuff, I used to read many of his posts on scoobynet and he makes a lot of sense.

As for the "I've spent ££££££ and I'll **** on everything" people, if someone else spent the same on a scoob, let alone an evo, you'll be losing again.

Thats the main issue del, the Evo comes in a few guises the VRS does not (unless we are counting the 150BHP and 180BHP) this is a null and void arguement before it starts, like you say you can buy a brand new VRS for less then a second hand EVO, also the differance in power out-puts and base capabilities of the cars is so vastly differant its not like for like.

So for arguements sake lets say like for like-

A 2005 VRS standard with 180BHP (top model) then in a like for like faces a EVO IX FQ300 that has 305 BHP and 297 LB as standard, it does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and has a limited top speed of 157MPH and lest we forget we are talking the base model here, so you would say you would need to be 1 million times the driver he is.

If you go like for like again and say spend 2k on your VRS, it will be better but take the IX FQ300 and do the same and it will be gaining alot more then you have.

Do what Del has done but also spend that on the FQ300 and god knows what he will have.

I dont know this for sure and Del who I have met on a few occasions I trust is not a billy bull ****ter (well apart from the 1.4 badge ) can have the last word realy as he has arguebly the most tuned Octy but im thinking even his car would struggle to post a 4.5 0-60 time altho on a nice long road I suspect it will real in the EVO and pass it at around 120 MPH and leave it standing from their, the only question is if we go like for like so give the EVO the cash for Mods del has spent I think the EVO would be in a differant world like 700BHP or more and with a chassis more able to handle it and not to mention all of the other running gear, 4x4 and such to make it like for like.

On a side note Del has not binned his car so he must be a decent driver with that power on that chassis lol

the FQ300 needs a service every 4.5k miles has a tiny fuel tank and gets about 20 MPG when driven like a granny, the Octavia wins plenty of area's with an EVO but plainly the EVO is in a differant league.

not that I'm necessarily disagreeing with you, but this isn't really the place to discuss why/how certain people are mods

there's no doubt that given the same input a 300bhp Evo/Impreza would/should be quicker than a vRS of similar power around a track or on those loverly little twisty backrounds we have dotted all about the place, but at the same time, on other roads the vRS is possibly (probably) going to come out best because of better low/mid range torque(?). A mk1 vRS with "just" a remap probably isn't going to give either an Evo or Impreza too much of a shock unless certain specific circumstances fall into place
