Going from UK to France - Headlight Adjust

Featured Replies

I asked my dealer about adaptors only yesterday and he showed me how to do it on my Roomster 3 with H7 headlamps. You remove the rubber covers and there's a quite obvious silver coloured lever that you push one way for driving on the left and the other for driving on the right.

mine too

very useful

Yes, shame it isn't in the handbook.

I have never bothered. I just lower the headlamps by the adjuster near the light switch and I have never been flashed by a French driver. The curious thing about these EU

regulations is that the continentals do not bother when they drive to the UK. Our French friends who visit us in the UK have never heard of beam deflectors!!

Now you have to take 2 breathalysers. What a joke!!!

You have to, but the police will no longer prosecute if you don't have them. Can't work that one out lol...

When you do buy them, they have a limited shelf life, some less than a year, so buy carefully just before you go if you must have them.

Halfords sell a pair at the till for £4.99

I read somewhere, they cost around a €1 at most supermarkets in France.

Yes we too are planning a french visit soon.

Lidl fire extinguisher too...£8.99 at the moment.

French law requires ONE, yes I have read the decree.

The do-gooders have decided that if you use one you will be breaking the law after that, hence packs of 2

The point to watch is the expiry date on the pack.

You have to take: beam deflectors, safety triangle hi-vis jackets for everyone, GB sticker (if not on reg plate), spare bulbs, breathalyser x 2 to go to France. What do the French need to come to the UK. Answer: Nowt!

I think you will find that the breathalyser requirement has been dropped...It appeared that the only manufacturer was a mate of the previous president..This new lot have since binned it off..Apparantly the French themselves were indifferent to such a requirement and as such had no intention of complying with it..
