Nurburgring shots

Featured Replies

I know this is probably not the right place but I wanted to show you guys my Octavia on the limit . Just been emailed the photo's I paid for at the Nurburgring a few days ago and must say I'm happy with them. What do you guys think?

The second shot really shows the strength of the Neuspeed 28mm rear anti roll bar as the car does a pugeot 205 GTI impression . The KW variant 3's also keep the car perfectly controlled during the compression of the Karussell

Really had it dialled this year consistantly getting below the 9 minute lap. It's taken 3 years of playing to addapt the set-up.

Great pictures. What corner is the "2-an-a-bit wheels" on the road picture? Looks close to 10/10ths

Great Photos, Going in 5 weeks can't wait :D

AWSOME photos m8, looks quality, especialy the two and a bit wheel shot. Gonna have to get over there at some point, maybe with 2009 if there is a Brisk Nurburg outting!

No, they were taken by a German pro photographer as part of the Nurburgring 700 trip I went on. At the end we got to see the pics and choose the ones we wanted. These were emailed to me this afternoon.

Looking good, and your wheels look fantastic. cant wait to start at this job soon and start saving for some ring trips and a few track days next summer.

what's going on with your lower middle grill as its not standard???

Great shots. I paid 10 euros for one shot of mine. Loved it the moment I saw it.

Lovely pics. I take it the brakes held up well then? ;)

It is totally standard mate, its the stonking Front Mounted Intercooler you can see behind it

I've not played about with the looks at all - everything on the car (Including the wheels) is geared towards performance. If it won't make it lap faster, it ain't gona be changed :P

Cheers, the brakes were the star of the show really - consecutive laps were so much fun

i love to here people say that as people do seem to spend just to much time on modifying bodywork and leaving the engine alone.

porno shots!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks LOL, obviously quite a bit has been done to the engine but there is far more time to be gained setting up the chassis and brakes first. Then hit the power hard. I was surprised how little gain was achieved by a 60 BHP increase although it did feel much faster. The real time improvements came with getting the car under control.

ooooooooooooooooo

Man that is ace mate car looks ace too.

never thought the octy could be so rigid,

tri-pod goin on a bit there.

what sus mods you got?

Thanks.

The octy is quite rigid with a thick rear ARB. Jack up the front wheel and the rear wheel lifts too.

Handling mods include:

Neuspeed 28mm adjustable rear ARB

Powerflex front suspension bushes, engine mount, streering rack mount

KW Variant 3 coilovers - unfortunatly these are not great out of the box and do need patience to really get them to work, but when they do they're

Lightweight OZ superleggra 18 inch alloys and light aluminium 6 pot brakes (surprising the difference reducing unsprung weight makes)

Goodyear Eagle F1 assymetric tyres - these were SOOOOO much beter than the Toyo T1R's I used last year.

Front ARB was left alone as the ballance is perfect now, uprating front arb, fitting strut braces ect will only dial the standard unsteer tendancies back in.
