there will be no new fabia vrs!?!

Featured Replies

purchased a 55 plate vrs today, was talkin to the sales man and asked him when the new fabia vrs was commin out. he said it wasnt! its been made official that there will be no new furby vrs??? anyone else heard this??:thumbdwn::confused:

This has been rumoured before, and dont forget some dealers also said there will be no Furby mk1 vRS.

Does this count as another £10 for Decron?

Yep, more money for Decron. More of us should have taken on that bet!

anyone wana enlighten me to the bet???? lol

Everytime another unsubstantiated rumor about the fabia vrs mk2 pops up, Decron earns a virtual £10. There was a point where every other thread was about the vrs mk2....

Salesmen just say that so you will look at products they have available for sale.

Pinch of salt taken,,,

WHAT..? There will be a new vRS.

I read it in an online article not too long ago.

Will try and find it.

As far as I understood from the article...

There will be a 1.6T petrol, and a 1.9tdi.

Both putting out 170bhp standard.

Will be based up on the S2000 prototype fabia2.

The article could have been wrong... but as I said I'll try and find it.

If they dont make another vRS... whats my next car going to be.?

Michael

The article is ******** end of.

Dealer had a notice a while back saying the vRS wasn't finalised and under consideration.

Thanks god... there is hope.! haha.

I had better get saving...!!

A dealer told me the mark 1 vRS could be quite a way off, so I opted for 1.9 tdi 100bhp. Guess what a few months later it was launched. I wouldn't always believe what a salesman has told you.

Expect it some time never, and I very much doubt it would be a 1.9....

According to a Skoda Auto CZ email yesterday, there are no plans for a new vRS for at least 12 months and beyond. And thats from Skoda's HQ in Mlada Boleslav.

Last thing I heard was that there would be a vRS but not until 2009 and that was from Skoda's top bloke.

micmason123, they won't use a 1.9 at that output, the only real engine would be the 2.0l 168bhp, which has been tested in the new Seat Ibiza so here's hoping Skoda do the right thing and put it in the next Fabia.

I thought it would be a 1.4 tsi at 170bhp?

theres not going to be a new vRS?

This weeks AutoExpress says 2010...

Jesus the world will have run out of oil and we'll be obligated by our government to ride around in Sinclair C-6's by then !! :o) So good luck Skoda....

  • 2 weeks later...

speaking to d m keith skoda they say the new vrs will be late 2010/11 and apprantly will be 3dr :o

OMG! Noooooooooo!!! first I hear that there won't be a new BMW M3 CSL, and now the furby?

How can God allow this?

Well I have heard a good rumour. They do not like the floor plan of the fabia 2 so need to redesign it. Also as they want the next vRS to sell better than the last one they have a lot to live upto so they need to make it more special and a bigger surprise than the last fabia vRS. Also the rumours I have heard is that it was going to be 2009 but because the whole floor plan needs redoing they have put it back to 2010.

Is that another £10 for Decron :P

Who cares should keep my vrs's value up even though the credit crunch has already flattened its value

I think the market has just got a bit more realistic - the residuals were stupidly high - 70%+ at 3 years which is better than a Merc SLK or even a Porsche Boxster - now they're a much more realistic 50-60% although there are still people try to get almost 100% retail for 12-month old SE's at the moment, which is just daft.
