Rumbled. Your right. Well, they're not going there. Going to use one or perhaps both to do the wheel arch vent. Might have one left over if anyone else wants one, they were only a couple of quid each.

Thank the lord.

working around the swear filter is a big no-no, so I can't really comment, sorry :D

There really may be a God then.

i don't understand why people buy stuff to do the pikey wheel arch mod , when it can be done for nothing with the correct tools available

What's the no-cost way then? Drill lots of holes?

Always wondered what venting into a high pressure turbulent area did anyhow.

Increase drag.

Worthless unless you have a matching one after the arch.

Utterly pointless.

With them positioned that way round, they would be supposedly be venting hot air rather than gathering cold air. In which case, the only possible functional purpose they might have to is to vent above the turbo / exhaust manifold, so they're in entirely the wrong place.

The only argument you might have for positioning them towards the front of the bonnet would be to dump hot air out the back of the radiators and an FMIC, but that would need some serious ductwork under the bonnet and they're no where near big enough to shift the volumes of air we'd be talking about.

But just don't either way.

Guess you didn't read the whole thread then. I just put them on for a laugh.

I know I was just trying to be smart.

Speaking of which, have you still got a Roadster??

I have a couple of vented meshes (ironically enough) for the rear bumper lying in my garage if you're interested... Black painted steel, if I recall...

I've been trying to get rid of them and they'd be free to a good home...

Hee hee, my Roadie went and was replaced by the Fabia. You should stick them on eBay, guaranteed to sell them. Thanks though. :)

If it's good enough for the S3 and TT it's good enough for me!

What about something xr3i or cosworth style? Properly moulded into the bonnet.

No need to have something that does nothing except...well, look crap IMO.plus not very aero dynamic. Add a spoiler and your half way to ....well where ever yo want to be.
