Sorted Cheers Stu

Theres nothing speacial about the lead on that website is there??? Because £30 quid seems a bit steep for a lead. Could I plug any Aux > Phono lead in

Also is there an easy way to get to the back of the Headunit :D

Yeah pull it out.

Ther are other leads for less that will do the job, look at bluespot.com/co.uk

Why not get an adaptor that plugs into the bottom of your ipod that will transmit a radio signal that can be received by your radio. Cheap easy and no messing about.

Radio transmitter audio quality is very poor.

I know.

I bought one.

It's an adapter box as well.

Depends which one you get mate...

The pinouts on the Symphony are normally the same as the Blaupunkt.

I don't know that they'll control the iPod but this wasn't a requirement for the OP.

Pinouts are here - Fabia-vrs.com - Mobile Phone Car kit Integration

Regardless of which one you get it will still transmit the audio at radio signal quality - typically around 40-64 kb/s

They will NEVER be better than a physical connection.

I currently already use a radio transmitter and it is really annoying when another stations starts to tune in and yes it is bad quality which is why I am looking for a straight into the Symphony headunit.

I've fitted one of these to mine, Works well & easy to fit. Well worth it especially if like me your player isn't an Ipod

Sorry, just wanted to bump this one again to see if anyone has one of the two Blaupunkt Aux leads and if they do work?

Long trip this weekend and would like to get away from the radio transmitter thing i have as it really is cr*p!

If you want ipod connectivity, try the IO Player. Also doubles as a handsfree kit. £139.99 fully fitted from my local mobile phone retailer.

Thanks Marky, but I have a creative Zen so all i really want in a 3.5 jack to plug into. The Aux lead would be an ideal solution but reading the forums it sounds like you might need a control box to convince the headunit that a CD changer is attached. Thats why i would like to know if anyone has a Aux cable working?

There's a company called Xcarlink that do one that allows you to keep the CD changer (if you have one) also can have a bluetooth connection for your phone...

Search results :: XCarLink

Cheers Delroy, they are all Ipod though which is an over kill for me. think i'll just go the way of the connect2 as no one seems to have the Aux lead working.

Cheers everyone!

I got the connects2 to run my zen through the h/u.

The aux cable apparently only works with aftermarket blaupunkt h/u's

At the end of the day it's only 30 odd quid, and it works.

Got this fitted by Paige yesterday (my hands were too big to thread the lead through to the glove box). OMG this thing works really well  loads better quality than the radio transmittor and all leads / player can now hide in the glovebox :D

hi guys can somebody link me the exact item i need to purchase!!

also has anyone done a how to guide?

There isn't much of a how-to needed. The hardest bit will be getting the headunit out (and back in again...). Just make sure you properly ground the black wire out the back of the unit.

This is where I wound up putting mine:

The XCarlink ones are not all iPod. Look at the model V and VI, they have an Aux (3.5mm jack) and USB.

Has anyone been able to get the line in lead cable solution to work as yet?
