Adrian Flux!!!

I don't often moan abouts companies ,but i'm not to happy.

Got my renewal though and it had gone up by £25 so i decided to ring round and see if i could get the price down.

Renewal was £410 + £25 amin fee.

Gave Chris Knott and quote was £335 which i was happy with.

then gave AF a call back to cancel policy and they said they could look in to my renewal quote:rolleyes:, so they came back to me with £330 and would waiver the admin fee.

Also told them i wanted to add a couple of more mods and up the bhp a little (20bhp) as declared on CK quote.

Told them i would think about it and i would get back to them.

Decided to call them on saturday to renew with them (as it saved me messing around),told them to make sure they have extra bhp and mods added to policy to save me filling in form again.

Girl came back to me to say quote would be higher due to extra bhp as no record was placed on my notes about this at the time of quote.

Stopped the girl in her tracks by saying 'don't bother i will go with other company' she kept saying don't you want to hear the quote.

'No' i replied again, please just send me my NCB.

I couldn't be bothered to start down the road of 'Please checks your records for the recorded conversation of the quote so just decide to go with the CK.

I wouldn't mind if AF are easy to deal with, but the trouble i had last year when they decided to threaten to cancel my policy because they said they didn't have my list of mods, even though i faxed it to them and then called to check they had got it.

Bye bye Adrian Flux :mad::thumbdwn::finger:

Hello to Chris Knott.

I've never found them easy to deal with, nevermind anything approaching "competitive"

My renewal's coming up in October. I'm wondering if it will go up instead of down.

But then again, last time I called Chris Knott to match a quote they physically laughed at me on the phone.

Do renewals ever go down in price???

I would have thought it was always higher due to the number of people who just pay the price and never shop around!

My insurance company (Noel Dazely always better any quotes I get) which makes you wonder why they just don't give you a good renewal in the first place

AF always ask me to confirm my email address and mobile number 'for security purposes', really pi$$es them off when I say no, you've never had them!! They always come back with 'well if you give me them now I'll add them to your file' - Hmm tempting!!!

They asked me for that info once when I was with them, I told them I dont have a mobile and that my employer does not allow me to use their email address for non business communication (all ficticious of course), they added that to the file and never asked me again.

I had been with AF prior to my current policy for many years, however they couldnt match the quote I had from Bell this time round. They had previously always revised their quote when calling them, and always waived the admin fee.

Ive been with AF a few years now, never really had a reason to switch as they always undercut other quotes, infact they usually garentee it come renewal time anyway.

I wasn't best pleased with the misleading nature of their "offer" in the Freedom Members area. They cater for "young drivers, drivers with motoring convictions and modified cars" but refused to quote competitively for a young driver with no no claims bonus but who hasn't had an accident for 18 months and 46,000 miles (VRS)

I had some probs with AF when i moved to them earlier this year. Gave all the details of my mods over the phone and got the quote. Now through my own fault i'd left it too late to renew with previous insurer who had given a good renewel proce so had to go with AF as it was short notice. Price was good and was about £50 less than CK who i was with previously.

Few days later the documents come through and i fill in the mods form and send it back. They then send the mods form back saying i haven't filled it in correctly. I'd filled in all the sections reqd but for some reason they were saying i hadn't filled in the section about wheels..... Which bearing in mind the wheels are the standard alloys didn't really relate to my quote. So i call them and they agree that i had actually filled the form out correctly so off it goes again only for me to get a letter stating that due to my mods the quote will actually be approx £70 ish more!!!! That took it higher than the renewel i had had from CK so i call them again and they say it's because of my Dragon Box and that i hadn't disclaimed the higher BHP!!! Now this arguement went on for 3 days with numerous calls top them because they never called back when they said they would. And eventually got sorted by them going through the voice tapes of the original call and then they admitted the extra amount had been added in error.

Now ok it all got sorted in the end but their call centre leaves much to be desired and unless all other insurers are silly prices come renewel time i'll be off elsewhere.... Possibly back to CK who i had no problems with at all.

Cheers

Dave.

Sorry that you feel our offer is not correct.

We do cater for young Drivers etc so there must be another reason If you would like to pm me your details i can get it looked into and arrange a call back to discuss this further with you.

norwich union

still havent had a problem with AF and my other halfs been using them for a few years without complaint.

they are still the only insurers to actually understand my throttle bodies using oem MAF was. the rest (and i spent DAYS trying to find someone who would understand!) didnt have a clue and were quoting me roughly the same to insure and a 250bhp turbo version!

I'm with MMA via Swinton for my insurance - they were insuring my 307 before I bought my vRS a few weeks ago so it was easier to simply move the insurance over until renewal time.

Anyway, last year my renewal came through from MMA/Swinton and despite another year of trouble free motoring (I'm 33 with 15yrs NCB) my renewal had gone up.

So I shopped around and found two places that would do insurance cheaper and called Swinton back.

15 minutes later Swinton had called me again, had under-cut the lowest quote I'd managed to find by a little amount and upgraded my legal cover/loan car cover to their "Platinum Driver" free of charge.

I'm convinced they rely on people just blindly renewing insurance and if you call up they really don't want to lose customers and will cut you a good deal.

You might be right there.

Kwik Fit charged me £700 for my first year policy with them for 2007 - 2008

They wanted £740 for this years but getting a quote from their website was £640 so I went with that.

Later I discovered Fortis who underwrite my current policy also do the Green Insurance company and they quoted £550

AF always ask me to confirm my email address and mobile number 'for security purposes', really pi$$es them off when I say no, you've never had them!! They always come back with 'well if you give me them now I'll add them to your file' - Hmm tempting!!!

Just reference the above - we use these as security checks as they're unique. I appreciate it can be annoying to be asked time and time again. There is another reason - having contact details is handy all round - and they don't get passed on. Basically if you're in danger of cancellation, or renewal is due, we pop you a text and an email as well as a letter. In this day and age before we implemented this, so many people said 'why don't you just text me, I was out of the country/away from home/didn't open my mail'. So it should be helpul to the customer.

If any of you ever have an issue with anything on the phones, tell the person to speak to me and I'll intervene and help out as much as I can. As with any organisation, those on the front line don't have as much sway or fexibility as those above them. We have managers/supervisors they refer things to and then I'm the 'final say' as such, so I can make a lot of decisions to help you guys out.

As cheesy as this sounds, car clubs are real enthusiasts and generally love their cars and take care of them. This bodes well to an Insurer or broker of course, so we need to look after you all. Price is always a contentious issue, and sometimes can't be helped, but flexibility and listening to people's needs is key. If I ever cannot help you, as wih Dan, we will make 100% sure you know that we've done all we can - and if we cannot help for a reason, we'll make sure you know why.

I hope this is of help to you all. It's not false promise, my job is to manage customer service and I take great pride in making customers as happy as humanly possible.

Speak to some of you soon no doubt,

Jen

Thanks Jen.

I'm sure you also understand that if a customer does not wish to make these details available then that should be respected.

Continually asking me 'to confirm' details that you don't hold is nothing short of deceitful.

Adrian flux are the biggest set of morons on the face of the planet and I wouldn’t ever buy insurance from them again!

Here’s my story...

1st problem

changes car over from the fabia to the Volvo..... They got the reg wrong when I told them it slowly and clearly! So I had to wait again for my cover note to come through before I could collect the car.

2nd problem

had to have a courtesy car and needed to arrange my own cover. Rang AF up and added the car as a temporary car. The person I spoke to confirmed that she would send out an invoice and I could then pay it. No invoice came, and then 3 weeks later I get a nasty letter saying they have cancelled my insurance!

3rd problem.

I wanted to put my private plate on the Volvo. Phoned up, told them the new reg, and asked them to repeat it back to me..... Alls good I think. Wrong cover note comes through with a completely wrong Reg. WTF cant you people do anything right?

4th problem

Contacting AF seems to be a real problem... I can’t phone them as I don’t have access to a phone at work. And I am out of the house from 7am until 8pm everyday. As Adrian flux shut at 5:30 I thought I would give the online service a try. Got reply email back saying the system didn’t work and could I please phone them up?

Well guess what, I will be phoning you up tomorrow.... to cancel my fooking policy!

I was thinking that!

To be honest, I'll be ringing them at my renewal time, but I don't hold any hopes for them being anywhere remotely competitive.

well i got my quote hell of a lot more than im currently paying with directline and i have no mods. it might have took over a week to get a quote so i for one wont be using adrian flux.

We're open 9 til 5.30 Monday to Friday and 9 til 4 on a Saturday. Alternatively you can PM me with details and i can see what i can do for you.

confused.com found me the cheapest quote. so I'm with Esure now, and I have to say they are brilliant! Unlike Endsleigh who were less than capable (it was like speaking to a moody child on the phone).

I've called Esure loads of times to add euro cover or change things, and they are always efficient and helpful. Can't fault them. Plus this years premium has gone down on last years, always good.

It's a customer driven market, and the customer really does hold all the cards on car insurance as there are so many companies out there. People remember bad things more than good, and word of mouth is a powerful thing. So insurance companies have a tough job keeping us all happy i guess....

I would prefer excellent customer care and policy cover over cheap premiums personally.

Esure have just quoted me £213 :D

Still waiting on my quote rom AFlux.
