I'm currently in the market for a Skoda vrs I have been offerd a deal on a 2002 vrs 21k fssh for

Hello and welcome

I can't say how it compares to a vectra, but I've been very happy with mine. A trip to one of the tuning companies should sort out the bhp for you.

If you search you will find lots of threads re dump valves etc and the merits (or otherwise) of the various options for chipping.

Yellow is a great colour !

Welcome btwellz,

If you are thinking of modding then all you ever wanted to know and then some about what ppl on this site have done can be found here:

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4941

Also, if you have a look in the For Sale section you should find that there is quite a few Vrs round there for sale at sensible money, a similar sounding one to the one you have been offered is...

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12367

and this already has some mods (dump valve at least) done.

Anyway, as regards ownership, I can't think that I have read to many dissapointed reviews on this site ;)

Ah, another caravanner!! btwellz, welcome but be warned there are some in here that don't like the dreaded C word! Go into the news archives and read what I mean!

Excellent choice of car for towing...You'll be queing behind everyone NOT the other way 'round!

btwellz

I have a couple of questions -

Have you test driven the car yet ?

Why would anyone want to tow anything with a car that is so much fun to drive ?

Good luck with your choice :)

Thanks for all the replies!

Steve I dont wanna tow really but keeps the missis happy for now and 2 kids is the other answer!! I'm going to test one out this week some time I think that is the only way to find out!! I didn't realise how much they can be tuned and how much is available for them.

See what I mean, you've only been in here 5 mins and the comments have started

Don't worry though, they mean well, just a lot misguided. :gay:

You'll find excellent support from quite a few of us in here fellah, and as a consequence we'll look forward to some good cosy caravan chat :D as well as all the other usual stuff!

If towing ability is important then consider an Octavia 4X4. It is every bit as tuneable as the vRS and will have far more street cred on caravan sites.

Get the yellow one - excellent choice  For info, Motorline Skoda in Canterbury (new dealer) have a yellow one of siminlar age and mileage for about that much as well.

Just see a yellow one and I do think they are a bit in yeh face but I quite like that as it stands out in the crowd! C.J I'm new to caravaning too and have a budget of around

"Vectra" and "Sport"... not words you'd normally see in the same sentence... :revs: :D

I did like the GSI but I guess it was more MDS than Vauxhall but I see what you mean! Looks like I moved up a league or so!! I'll try not to mention VECTRA!!! again!

I jest... a friend of mine has the GSI and very nice it is too... just looks a bit like every other v%$tra out there... not as quick as mine either! ;)

  • Author

The skoda quicker then?

Didn't Skodaw sell his vRS and bought a Vectra GSi as an infill vehicle only to sell it on again a couple of weeks later. I can't remember whether it was cos the Vectra was **** or not...

Roughly Btwellz, where are you so I know if its worth my while looking out for you..caravan wise, Vrs wise too I suppose!
