Alarm gone off twice in the night....

Featured Replies

Saturday night and now tonight, the only times its ever gone off in the 2 years i've owned it. Defo no one messing with it but both times there's a reasonable drop in the outside temperature which i think may be the cause....

Anyone had anything similar?

Check for spiders too. They can set them off

Hello

I've been having trouble with mine as well.

Turned out to be a dodgy microswitch in the bonnet catch.

Try giving the bonnet a good slam!

Yea, try lifting the bonet and dropping it from about a foot, mine hasn't done it since.

If not, try the boot too.

Ha ha, beat me to it!!

Mine does it on the other spectrum, when its been a scorcher outside and the car is toasting outside, then the temp drops as the sun goes own, but still warm, it goes off.

due to the pish summer it only happened twice this year :D

The alarm hadn't gone off since I made my original post and has now gone off twice tonight so I've armed it without the internal sensors and will give my dealer a ring in the morning to get it booked in. Its looking like it's the internal sensor that's at fault....:mad:

I think there are a few threads about this from way back .....sons car went off at least twice a night for a few nights .....autumn and spring so must be temperature related....and other peoples fabias went off at the same time as well

i think its to do with the temp, the bits inside the car expand/despan and this makes the sensors detect movement.

Yeah I think its down to the temp too, having done a search on here it seems very common and requires the replacement on the sensors behind the interior light.

the heat change has probably caused the actual sensor to move from in its housing slightly but as the sensor doesnt know this the little (and probably no movement to the naked eye) has registered as like a body moving in the car.

Hi,

Having similar problems to those mentioned. Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity yourself or does it need the Skoda examiner?

Thanks

There is a small switch on the interior sensor Hi Lo Normal I think.

thanks

i'll take a look
