Some sod has nicked off my car.

Featured Replies

Between last night and this morning some thieving sod has nicked the vrs badge off the color coded grill on my car. All thats left are glue marks that held the badge on. Now thinking it doesnt look to bad without on a colour coded grill.

Could it not have fallen off itself, the cold temperatures of late tend to harden and hence weaken glue.

You sure it didn't just fall off, you know what Steves handywork is like

You shouldn't have a vRS badge on your Sport anyway, keep it off.

I vote the badge jumped off in disgust :D

It might be steves handiwork as it wasnt straight. Might clean up the left on glue and leave it as it does look meaner without it on

Why not put your grille insert in the colour coded frame? They are easy enough to split if you've got a bit of patience. Only a bit of double sided tape needed on reassembly.

It obviously felt ashamed at the deception.:P

Would you like to buy it back :P

Just like putting a M badge on a lesser car eh tomtom :P

Edit: just to state, putting a badge off a higher model of car can actually void your insurance if you dont declare it. on the points system most insurers use for mods a non-standard badge is worth 2 points. (5points = 5% premium hike)

Does that mean I could lower my insurance premium by putting a TDCi Sport badge on mine? :D

well i have the badge back now, sinister found it at the end of the cul de sac where my car doesnt go. im still thinking it was pinched off as i did hear someone outside and a plastic snap like noise just after i went to bed. the badge is a bit dented where its been on the floor but i might clean it up and look at making it into an original sports badge:thumbup:

My question is, does anyone on her work for a sign making company as i would like a reflective sport icon to stick to this badge?

second question, what would be the best way of removing the chrome etc as where its dented and scratched from being on the road im looking at removing it all to make this unique badge?

It's a non standard badge so would still increase your premium :D

Unfortunately it still has the BMW badges, so no. :P

You'll just have to make sure you eat all the buns you can whilst you have the car.

You just don't get that sort of attention to detail in a Skoda...:rofl:

Will the chav also work the indicators for you? :D

They were a deleted as standard option. I forgot to tick the yes please box when ordering. The Chav will sit on the roof (it needs a surprisingly large amount of Gaffa tape) and use hand gestures for me though:eek::rofl:

Don't you find the gaffer tape leaves alot of unwanted residue on the paintwork? :D
