225 vRS?

Featured Replies

i was told by jabba that if you fir the bigger bore better flowed head from an earlier golf 1.8t and chip+intercooler and other biggers pipes you can get over 240bhp and much quicker revs, can't remember which head the engine was from, i think it was a BAM engine??

You can't get 225bhp out of an 1.8T with a KO3 by just remapping. :P

The key words are the last three.

There is only so much air the KO3 will flow before it goes gang. Once that limit is reached doesn't matter what you do it, it won't flow any more.

maybe you can get 225 in winter

The early Golfs with bigger bores are cable throttle and won't work with the VVt/drive by wire heads, you have to have the original head fettled AIR.

Does the turbo compressor suddenly flow more are in the winter.

Or does it just flow less in the summer due to other influences.

Well I hope my turbo doesn't go gang .............. :D

colder air is more compressed, its worth at least 100 bhp apparently

ps i was joking

I would expect a turbo's performance to be rated under ISA conditions, ie at a temperature of +15

well, someone should take all the tuners to court for breaking the trade desriptions act, they are claiming more power than the k03 will actually handle,by simply tweaking the map on the day to get a higher reading than will be possible on a day to day basis (maybe they use water sprays, whatever)

however,

na im not changing mine :D

I changed mine last week...

ill put mine down to my super brilliant air filter ;)

I wouldn't change mine either.

225bhp or not at least you have a piece of paper to wave at people, the same as any other claimant.

I've got one with 249.1bhp and a KO3. You can't take that away from me. :D

So, if i want to get 260-280 HP from an AGU, what exact K04 turbo code should i get along with S3 injectors (380cc) ? Is there also anything else needed for theese kind of figurese besides a remap ?

skoda made a rally special in white with a few difrent bits on i was told they were 225 bhp has standard

You were told wrong, they're 180bhp like any other Octavia vRS.

You won't get that power from a K04 on an AGU in my experience. You'd be better going for an IHI. S3 Injectors don't fit without changing the fuel rail. You're also gonna need to change the exhaust and TIP.

i was talking to the skoda dealer today and he said that his vRS was a 225 model' date=' he said that they made a few 225 ones.

Is that true?[/quote']

when I got mine, the dealer asked if I wanted the 225 chip in mine, because they had done it to theirs. Is that what he's on about?

Mine asked me if I wanted the 180bhp(standard), 225bhp(TT), 300bhp(WRC) or 400bhp(JBS) Turbo.

Talking if this, I doubt I'll ever forget the face on a dealer when I said I had a 210 Bhp Skoda estate...shortly after telling him that his car didn't inspire me enough to trade.

I wonder why I never did get the brochure on the Legacy from that Subarau dealer...

The wrc is same engine power but goes round corners in a slighty different way.

We don't know of any 225 produced cars, the test car was widly cited as being chipped, and 225 is a rough over estimation of a simple chip / remap.

220 is the limits of the k03 as said previously and elsewhere from simple stage I mods.

If any dealer has a genuine 225 blocked vRS, I;ll be round to them tomorrow, seriously.

Talking of your old estate, I spotted a new 4x4 TDi(105) estate today.

Ok, to make it simplier, the 225HP TT, S3 and Cupra-R can reach 265HP only by a remap ! In other words, if i can make my 1.8T AGU identical with the 225HP 1.8T, the problem is solved. Now, which are the exact differences between the 2 engines. I must also mention that now i have a Brla cat-back wich makes the turbo lag almost 0 comparing to the stock exhaust. Few days ago i made a few km on a stock 1.8T Octavia and the difference in turbo lag is very big. Other than this, the power seemd identical ! (the diameter of my Borla pipe is around 50mm or 2'') !

It's completely different. You'll need the engine, manifold, turbo, throttle body, pipework, intake, MAF housing, injectors, intercoolers, wiring loom, ECU, clocks. Plus alot more. Expect to pay

.... Like Eddy said...

They're very different engines.

Even though they're both 1.8 20v Turbo engines, the internals for a start are totally different! Different rods, pistons, etc etc...

That's not good. Very expensive. I guess a ATP stage II wich goes for like 1750$ will do enough. I've heard this kit will get u to 250HP(crank) ! What does this kit include besides the turbo and is it anything else necessary for that kind of power. Is this GT28R a 'plug & play' turbo or the diameter(intake) are different ? I've heard 250HP is the limit of the fuel pump.

PS : Since my english isn't that good, what's 'crank' ? Engine output or wheel HP ? Also, the stock 150HP are at the crank or not ?
