18T transplant, Jag V12 engine in the back? Transplant of 4X4 Cossie engine and drivetrain ;):D

What engine is in your car mate estate hatch? :D

Skoda_Bwoy, welcome :wavey:

Q, you tart! ;)

Are we talking modifying in the pimptastic Q fashion or in terms of "proper" mods?

If it's "proper" mods:

1. Talk to your dealer, there are quite a few little upgrades available from Skoda as the car was used in rallying. Some stuff should still be available eg gravel suspension, strut braces, skid plates....

2. If not, suspension wise you could talk to Leda who will rebuild the standard struts to the spec you want (IIRC choice is; fast road/track day, gravel, tarmac rally and circuit in order of stiffness) combine that with a set of Eibach springs and the handling should improve.

3. For the engine, have a chat to Erik at AAT who should be able to help you out. He can probably also help with suspension and brakes.

There are other places, but these are the ones which come to mind immediately.

:hilarius:

Never dawned on me he could have been interested in more power, just Max Power

i have the 1.3glxi felicia.never really was much of a felicia fan but i ended up with one. i plan on modding :rice: it if i endup keepin it for a good while. i would love 2 drop in the 1.8T  but money is a crippling factor at the moment. since it really does not do much in terms of goin forward i usually end up sliding it if not redlining :mischief:

yeah i've got a felicia lxi and agree with skoda bwoy. i also am looking for mods, not gonna bother much with the engine cos im never gonna get proper power out of it, but am interested in the handling. currently saving for wheels n yokohamas, but dont know which springs to go for. eibach dont have them any more, they used to make them but ive tried and no-one has any left. but never thought of asking a skoda dealer for rally parts. can find g-max springs but have heard they're w*nk. anyone got any ideas then? not bothered bout body work but dont know how to get my anti-roll bar stiffened.

I have a Felicia 1.6 glxi. I have made a few mods to it. Suspension, strubrace, vented and grooved discs, induction kit, wide 15 inch wheels, full exhaust and some body trimmings as well, I have not seen any of these bits for sale anywhere or on another felicia for that matter.

Its a good torquey little engine, but it goes round corners on rails. However the engine could do with more power, often thought about a VR6 conversion.

Any way I will get some pics up soon as I think I am going to sell it.

But it really opens people eyes when they think they can have it in the twisties in there golf or other hot hatch.

Cheers

Guy.

Welcome to Briskoda. I have often thought of a cheap Felicia as a runaround o keep the mileage on the Fabia down, as they are nice little cars. There is quite a bit that can be done to them, but bits are relatively rare in this country. A look over some Czech sites would give you some ideas though.

I too have a felicia and mine is the 1.6 glx' date=' i find the suspenders are a tad soft to say the least but have just ordered a set of these for it

Nice wheel chap. What size?

I only went for 16's on mine for ease, but I find the whole cars appearance has changed with diffferent wheels, especially wide ones! Also being lowered buy 60 mm really helps.

Cheers

Hello and Welcome,

set of wheels and a "60mm drop",that is a big drop!!!

must be very high as standard guys.

that sounds like a good starting place, will make it look better and handle better then you can start looking for other bits like brakes etc,oh and don't forget your ICE!!!

Cheers for the welcome chap.

60 mm sounds a big drop till you look at the standard hight of the felicia.

An induction kit with a full exhaust really make a difference to the pokeyness of the engine, not the fastest but plenty of torque :D

I agree ice is also needed, I found the felicia is very good for putting in some large ice, you can get some good volumes in there with solid bass and accoustics, yet it seems quite qiuet outside the car, if you know what I mean.

Ive got a powerflow on mine, not the best in the world but it does the job, it is a full system as well.

It was already on there when I bought the car, but whoever fitted it did not do a bad job.

Cheers

Guy.

Laser do a performance back box

If you are looking to buy parts for a felicia, you might want to check out Butts of Bawtry (Near Doncaster).

They list sports back boxes for all models, and they also sell the Czech-made H+P sporting shock absorbers - I run a set on my Felicia rally car - excellent quality.

They have a downloadable catalogue on their web site -

http://www.jhmbuttco.com/

You might also want to check out www.needforspeed.co.uk. They list a variety of brake upgrades (drilled/grooved discs and uprated pads of various types).

I think there is also a superchips upgrade for the ECU.

Cheers

James

cheers for that,i was thinking of going to powerflow and getting them to sort something out.i only want a back box.

What would be the advantage/disadvantage of a backbox over a full system? I have a Felica 1.6 GLXi (VERY pleased with it!), would be interesting to find out about a backbox / full system :),

Cheers,

James

From my experience a box really just gives you sound/drone a full system sounds a lot better without having to have such a big back box and some small power gains to be had, combined with a good induction kit the engine can breathe just that bit easier.

I have a 1.6 GLXi and have a full powerflow exhaust, not the best make in the world and the back box exhaust has a diameter of around 6-7 inches but the sound is much fuller than just a back box with twice the bore.

And it burbles :D

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers

Guy.

Yeah cheers :),

What suspension do you guys suggest? For road use. I need to get some better handling out of my Felicia. I am going to try and couple this up with better wheels (probably 16").

James

On mine ive just got lowering springs (cant remember the make, I will check) but it its down around 60mm, takes advantage of the low center of gravity for the car. I use 15inch rims and only get wheel rub with a full car and a bumpy road, and bigger than 15inch and I think I would have to roll the rear arches, the front will be fine, but even as is the rear wheels, the top of the wheels are in the arch.

If you want real supsension upgrade than adjustable shock and absorbers are the way to go, but is costly, I did not want to spend that kind of money and just the lowering springs made a huge difference to the handling and body roll, as the felicia is very high as standard.

A front strut brace really helps as well.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Guy.
