Smoked Rears

Featured Replies

What do you guys think of the smoked rear lights? Not to Chavy are they?

Think they're better than those clusters you were looking at  ;) I think it's hard to tell from the photos, but I reckon they need to be slightly darker still? Look better than standard though - now where did I put my tinting spray? ;):D

Chris

i agree, perhaps a little darker would be better but you've definitely tried to address what i feel to be the weakest part of the fabia vrs design..... its butt! standard vrs looks too much like the standard fabia from behind IMO - tinted rears are the most likely way forward or perhaps the black-backed lexus clusters which i know got a pasting the other day. nice idea.

Looks good mate but personally i'd have left the clear bits and just tried to make the red bits as black as legally possible :)

Just be careful not to make them too black as the cops will be over you like a bad italian suit. They don't like it much since a copper was killed by a guy who had lights just emitting 6% of light in an Escort.

yeah I could have gone darker but I dont want to be stopped every 5 minutes lol.

Like Chris said I was toying with a few ideas I did think about the Dark Lexus lights but I'm still unsure about them. Apart from which this only cost me

Not too keen on them myself. Sorry!

Standard lights with Silvervision bulbs in look better IMO.

dont be sorry mate, everyone aint the same and each to their own. I have seen Ross's with the silver bulbs and I do like it, but I hate the redness of the Furby's backside! It just spoils it TBH

dont like them sorry :( lost the shine now. looks a bit like a 'kev's' car now. Dont take offence :o

imho i dont like them either would be better if it wasnt spayed tho

How about just spraying the clear bits and leaving the red bits? I've seen that style on another Fabia - alexninjas I think it was, and it looked quite cool.

I could do indeed. The good thing is if I do get bored with them it's easy to change! And then I can try something different.

I agree the clusters do need sorting. Would of left the clear bits but tried to change the red to a smoked style.

I like em - looks really good on a black car.

You need to debadge the rear, IMHO!

lol  already planned for this weekend! So much to do still and so little time until Trax 04!!! arrgghh :D

  • 4 weeks later...

I WAS thinking of doing the same , but not too sure now...

I've seen this in the flesh at Trax and it does look better than these pictures show.

Smoked rear lenses? Sorry i thought they'd been smoke damaged!

No offence, but don't like them one bit...but there again, what do I know?

If I was 20+ yrs younger I'd probably think they were ded cool too :cool:or maybe not. Dunno.

Agree with CJ, dont really like those. However, there are very few body mods I do like on any car, so I would not take it personally. Its just I always see body modded hatchbacks and think "chav car".

Mike,

I think it's a nice idea, but having seen them in the flesh they'd look better if they were shiny, sorry but they look a bit too DIY for me :( . When you see them in the sunlight, they look too matt and a bit patchy - what if you sprayed the insides instead - would that work?

Andy

I like them, as you say I think that the vRS looks too much like a standard fabia at the back and the std light say "Look at me I'm a pretty fabia" black ones are more kinda "Hey I'm a vRS I'm well 'ard back up b1tch" :D

Maybe that was a bit too much? Lol nah defo need changing from std tho, also I think the the chrome grill at the front is just to friendly... needs to be black, gives it that extra sporty grunt it needs. :hotdevil:

Erm, I dunno if you look at my sig I drive a volvo or a rover depending how old I'm feeling ! :D

There's a few ppl here who've got black grills, I'm sure they can help you.... do a search you'll prob find summat, I keep trying to convince john (faboka vrs) to change his grill but he's not biting just yet !

no it's easy to fit all you need to do it spray it yourself or get a bodyshop to spray it.

Lots of places they can be bought from try http://www.milotec.de/english/

any question feel free to PM me

Andy I did think that myself, but I think trying to get into the inside would be a nightmare, maybe when I find some at a scrappy yard it will give me a chance to play about with them. These was my first attempt at a mod on the car (well any car as it happens) it's a learning curve and I like them better than the normal red. But I will agree they could look better but as I said I was pleased as it was my first attemp :D

Q thanks for that
