yes they will. I was thinking of those for mine but between SWSBO and Chris they talked me out of it and I went with smoking the rears instead.

Still not 100% happy about the rear it needs to be work on more.

I had a friend of mine smoke my back lights, all he did was mix up some laquer and added a small amount of black paint to it and then sprayed on a few coats until i was happy with the darkness of them,i think they look good and they still have a shiny finish, there is a picture of the rear of it in my gallery if you want to see how they look.

sounds good, I've read on the spray and I can get a polish that will give it a shine, might look into that :) I'll have a look at your pic though

Having fitted Ermmmm Lexus lights I now have a spare pair of standard '04 model rear clusters going cheap, should anybody want to experiment before committing to a smoke paint scheme.

Also suitable for anybody with an '05 model who wants to give it a 'retro' look ...

PM me for details.

Have you got any pics of your de-badged rear? oh errrr :P

I'm thinking of taking mine off but not sure whether to leave the vRS badge as it's mainly the Fabia font i'm not keen on.

yes I have with the trax pictures that I have to upload to my pc. There is also someone else on here (aswel as me) that has just taken of the Fabia Badge and left the VRS on.

I'll try and post a pic tonight

i have removed all the rear badges and left just the Vrs badge in the centre, i wasnt sure at first but it looks great, im gonna clean it tonight and ill post some photos. Also removed the rubbing strips which makes it look a lot cleaner and easier to clean. Put two more Vrs badges down low on the fromt door pannals, these also look really good, but only when the rubbing strip has been removed.

Ill post them tonight

alex

Ok, I look forward to seeing the pictures before I warm the hairdryer up. :P

What does one use to get rid of the residue left from the sticky stuff, I saw someone said tar remover but I don't have a clue what that is. Also thinners have been mentioned but I don't want to mark the paintwork so any info would be much appreciated.

'Smoking' the rears will reduce the effective light output of the various rear lights - which self-evidently isn't a good thing. You wouldn't 'smoke' headlights, so why smoke rears? But if you must, let your insurers know so that they have the opportunity of reducing or disallowing a claim in the event of a rear shunt where inadequate rear lighting is a contributory factor. :(

Wonder if some of these lads should be driving saxos and corsas sometimes

Is this forum turning a bit barry boyish lately or have I just got old?

Have a horrid feeling the Fabia is soon to become the next generation chavmobile. Then It'll sadly be bye bye to mine! :(

No flak required..just a personal opinion and concern.

I think its good that people are free to talk about any aspect of there car on this forum, and i think its good that the majority of people respect indviduals different tastes :)

oh and by the way... I am writing from sunny Florida at the mo :)
