I'll be the one with NO cash, and NO credit card! ;)

Have to agree with what has been said above. The fabia is no Scooby, and dont get me wrong I love my furby to bits and without a doubt it's the best car I have owed, yeah it does give you a kick like a scooby but it's not as fast as one.

I've driven both classic and bug eyed impreza and the speeds you can handle at is far greater than the fabia.

But these cars are not in the same class and never will be, and to be fair they shouldn't. Yeah the fabia is a great car at what it does best cheap quick motoring, and the scooby does what it does best........goes very very fast.

If I could afford it yes I would have a scooby, I'm a gret lover of them (though heartbroken that is has the Nova brats driving them) but in real life driving and doing 24-30k a year the Furby wins hands down everytime!

Go for which ever makes you happy as you have to live with it from day to day either way your'll have a great car that you will be very pleased with

Mike

I wouldn't have a Scoob. Would be tempted by an Evo though. Mmmm MR340 :D

Some hatches will batter a scoob,such as a Clio Cup Racing,a Fabia will have no chance,even with Nitrous,unless its at TOTB on a dragstrip,where Maestros can take on everything,but through in a few corners and it would take a lot of money to turn a Fabia into a car that could track faster than even a standard scoob

Been out in a FQ300. Now that was quick. Just waiting for a mates dad to bring home a MR340 from work. :D

The 340 is *seriously* quick! Much better than the FQ300 I drove! :D :D

Yipppppppp

Some really good feeback..........researching the Scooby front = all their spare parts have been slashed because of previous comments on expsense to repair etc. So in theory the insurance should come down ! But thats in theory Crap.Tracker, 22 mpg

4 *NCAP, Insurance group 19,Service.

Now for hard facts, I thought the VRS performed "in areas" like the Scooby, a decent 0 to 6 time. Low insurance , Safety NCAP 4 *,Stealth, MPG etc.

I have received a call from Braodspeeds finance company who can beat Drivethedeals net price. Low APR , delivered on transporter, collect my part ex with potion to sell it inbetween. Now this I was surprised with

i'm sure u would be happy with either choice.

I have to admit from been a former scooby owner, the little fabia is very impressive and skoda where certainly brave by making there flagship hot hatch a diesel! (i couldn't see ford, citreon or pug doing the same)

I know a Fabia wont outhandle a Scoob, but I'm pretty sure a Clio would not "batter" one either.

I'm sorry but I think this Scooby v Furby debate is somewhat pointless as it depends what you want from the car. So for what it's worth:

Performance = Scooby (no contest)

Economy = Furby (no contest)

Reliability = Furby (no contest)

Insurance = Furby (no contest)

Price = Furby blah blah...........

Carjackings = Who wants to rob a skoda :D

My scooby locks me in so I can't be hijacked, plus I think the faded red paint, cracks in the window glass and rust spots kinda puts thieves off rather nicely

I didn't say a Clio,I said a Clio Cup Racer,and yes,this will totally batter a Scoob.I have seen one around Donnington leave 350bhp Cossies for dead ,never mind standard Scoobs.

in gear acceleration (i.e. 40-60 in 3rd/4th) a chipped Furby would leave a standard WRX for dead (this after driving both). My old Rover could keep up with a standard Scooby, as long as it didn't involve a standing start, and the road was dry. My bottle ran out in corners before the car did... And the 200bhp Furby I drove was quicker everywhere than my Rover.... I'll leave you to make your own conclusions!

in gear and flexibility are the keys to a fast car.... its the biggest thing i have noticed with my octy now the interior is back to standard.......

the in gear times have suffered a lot ...

this is where torque really helps... and weight really hinders....

Maybe a drive sometime with a remap'd fabia and a scooby is on order.

cant belive your even contemplating this.... fair enuff, in gear the fabia will win.. but if the scooby changes down... its all over for the furby.. (unless the scooby blows up - wheres chocolate boy when you need him?) :D

Sensible post from young Colin :thumbup:
