Carbon anyone

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone on here has any carbon parts on their cars? Looking mainly at cosmetic things, like covers in the engine bay.

Will be looking to make a mold of the engine cover next week, is this the kind of thing anyone would be interested in?

I'm hoping not...

Not to my taste anyway. WHy add carbon fiber effect and add to overall weight of car? Counterintuitive?

it wouldnt be a carbon fibre effect, it would be a proper engine cover made out of carbon fibre to replace the original engine cover in there, weight gain if any would be negligable. I just think that it would be better than the original, and seeing as it is something i can professionally do myself, then why not?

It may not be to your taste, but then again, do you like everybodies version of their own modified fabia's?

just trying o be unique

Could be a good Idea but I think you would be looking at the top end of the market modifiers only for a product like this.

I think it's a great idea. There will be a few on here willing to buy one!

(I would however suggest if you are going to sell them, you should join freedom)

Mostly my car be carrying it's carbon in soot!:D

Engine cover could be difficult as it's got interesting attachments/mounts.

A carbon copy (sorry) of a PD160 intake may sell a few copies.

I could do with a battery box cover as I managed to break the RHS clip off it completely.

Exterior.... door bumpers/rubbing strips, replacement front grilles, numberplate holders, Complete numberplate mount and lower grille assembly...

Front splitter that actually fits properly and matches the style of the front bumper... ;)

J.

If its going to be genuine carbon bits and pieces Id deffo be interested :D

I think that they could sell very well, I will watch this space.

Good luck

Simon

the parts would definately be made from actual carbon fibre (NOT carbon effect), and epoxy resin (most likely ampregg 22)

engine cover will probably be the first project, hopefully will start mold work on this next week.

If people do want anything, eg battery covers, then im sure i will be able to make most things.

I'll keep a close eye on this thread to see peoples opinions

I've gotta say it incase no one else does...

CF Bonnet? Dependant on price and flex of course

i would be interested in a carbon splitter and spoiler mate also carbo exhaust bumper trim

Could you do Carbon mirror casing (the painted bit that's removeable), if you can PM me!!!

Would be interested in most bits mentioned here; price dependant of coure

Battery cover and engine cover most of all probably

Steve

I'd be very interested in a splitter.

I've asked about this before :) would love a carbon bonnet, splitter and spoiler ;) bugger it, a carbon roof skin would finish it off lol

Again, price and stability dependant

price & quality depending...

engine & battery cover definate and probably most of the already mentioned above!!!

Mark

CF bonnet from me

Will be cool to see how this comes along.

Sounds interesting.

Go mad... wings, bonnet, boot.

CF Bonnet would be nice, set off with CF door mirrors.

Your Also going to have to register as freedom at the very least (Assuming its not your daily job ;)) to sell them on here.

I will be joining freedom in the close future.

But why do you say i would need to join it, at the least to sell them on this site, I'm guessing maybe for some security for the buyers, or is there something else?

It's a site rule - Simple really. In paying £12 you get a free sticker, less adverts and are allowed to post items for sale.

This site has many members and is good for a google search - It's a brilliant way to advertise a product for sale.

(Basically a help us to help you sorta thing!) - Hope this helps,

Rob

Ive already started my front spiltter in carbon, just needs finishing.
