Yes but that was not the setup that's on the car now ;)

RR's are just pub figures ;)

If your car drives good on the road that's all you should be worried about!

come along to a rolling road day to compare it to others :)

so the map that knife has had on his octy is a generic one???

It says they dont do generic ones on there page sayin no vat in nov and dec.

this is very true set the car up right suspension + brakes just like you did fezzy :D:thumbup:

No his was a custom one.

LOL

I said that the first thing people will do is pull this apart on the forum. I actually said that morning i expect no more than 220 ish and 250lbft, the highest k03s been 228 with decat on our dyno.

The figures you see there are repeatable and logs show NO issues at all, i even logged on the road as i personally was baffled why it made so much (yes i send many people away crying on the dyno dynamics)

Call it what you want but this map is far from bad, with a little less boost low down the top end would be held longer due to lower temps but you would lose 20/30lbft. In a car like this it's torque that counts.

P.S. the most a totally standard car has see was about 205 on our DD, also in shootout mode the only thing to influence figures is the intake temp which is clearly printed on the graph.

Overboost was 2300mbar with 12.2:1 AFR with a richer mix when intakes were rising very high up (52 max on the dyno and 40 on the road on a WOT run)

Any other questions fire away but please don't start saying how the graph is for pub talk until you have done the research ;)

Paul

as you prob no i brought the car i have now off fezboy so ive just check the paper work and have the reading from the marlins rr day. to my surprise... what do we make of that !!!!!!! rr being nice? ips dastek rr completly differnt readings going to surrey rr next week to see what there produces......amazing how unaccruate rr really are !!!!!!!

Check the losses for whp and fly. Joke TBH

hey paul

dont know if you have read my email to you yet, how long does it take to remap a car? I have a map on at the mo and its not that good, i sent all the details to your work email. I am up that way on the 12-14th dec, i am wonderin if you can fit me in on the sat?

If you see the email I sent youll see a few things i may need to sort first

cheers

I have done my research by putting my car on 4 different rr and getting 20bhp difference ;)

I was saying in general rr's need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

If the guy is happy with the car on the road then that's the main aim is it not

I got 263 ft/lbs on these rollers back in may but only 217 bhp with same mods but only a generic map With intake temp of 30 degree.

Dyno dynamics are reputed to be one of the most accurate RR's but i agree that the bhp does seem high.

Enjoy the extra power buddy ;)

p.s Jaymd's made 274 ft/lbs on the Awesome RR back in September so i suppose the torque figure must be reachable?

If I remember Jaymd's Octi also has a FMIC

That is a problem yes, there are some shocking dyno's on the market which will inflate the figures in a big way. A good way to compare is the wheel figures, that way no correction is applied.

Don't dismiss Dyno Dynamics though, if operated correctly they are very "accurate" and even if the machines are at the other end of the country they will produce pretty much the same numbers if in shootout mode.

Plus.. the main point of a dyno in my eyes is to use it as a tool to tune cars on, we went for the DD as this seems to be a more industry standard for the figures due to the shootoout mode, it's just a shame so many companies have useless dyno's that you can't tune a car on due to not been braked and have massive scope for user error.

ditto car has been on at least 8 rolling roads and have varied results from 21bhp difference max to min and 35llb/ft torque max to min

gerry was only telling me the other day about how every time he went back to ip with your current car they would make changes to the map. I think if you are comparing rr's they need to be with the same mods on each

Mainly adjustment for different fuels etc.

Im happy with the results anyway, thanks again to Paul.

knife,

are you runnin 99 tesco fuel or Vpower? or somethin else?

  • Author

using V power for past 5 tanks or more.

mmm nice thats prob some to do wi the power/

I use the tesco 99 or 97 if I fill up at Haverfordwest. try to fill in bristol thou as its 99 there. hop it helps a bit.

If anyone is interested we would be happy to host a dyno day for Briskoda. People can sit in the car while on the dyno so any questions can be answered :)

Yes please!

I had a couple of mates up with you last weekend. Remember a lad with a 1.8T Ibiza getting only 178bhp!

Edit: You'r only 18.8 miles away from me, so kinda handy!
