What cars have you owned?

Featured Replies

I remember those,

How on earth did you get it to go fast enough to roll it?

I had the MG version with the digital display and the talking computer

I remember in my youth there was an MG Maestro Challenge rally series.

Great thread, makes me feel better about the fact that I am about to buy my 5th car... I've not been driving 6 years yet..

Soo, here we go then :)

Car #1

2002 Fiat Seicento EL Apr 2003 - Feb 2004

(Think this is what they sold in Ireland).

Name - Sylvia

Price - £3,299

Start Mileage - 12,700

End Milage - 27,000

Sold for - £2,400

Bought it in April 2003, passed my driving test in it. Loved this little car, I went everywhere in it :D Was pretty cheap to run as it did like 40-45 MPG even on petrol, tyres were dinky, so they were cheap to replace.

Bought it with about 12,000 on the clock, sold it privately with 27,000 on the clock 1 about 1 year later when I got the opportunity to inherit Car #2 from a relative who passed away...

Car #2

1998 Nissan Almera GX Feb 2004 - Oct 2004

Name - Dawn

Price - Errr, nothing

Start Mileage - 22,000

End Mileage - 30,000

Sold for - Part ex'ed £1000 for the Octavia

So yeah, inherited this from my Aunt. It was a 1.4 Twin Cam GX, so quite moderately specced. Had 23,000 on the clock because it was never driven. Wish I'd kept it until the death because this car supposedly is one of *the* cheapest to run and maintain.

Trouble was.. I got bored of it after 10K (33K) and because I'd gotten my first job... I decided to trade it in for Car #3...

Car #3

2003 "03" Skoda Octavia Ambiente 2.0 Oct 2004 - Oct 2006

Name - Olivia

Price - £7999

Start Mileage - 13,000

End Mileage - 47,000

Sold for - part ex'ed £4000 for Ibiza

Bought this in October of 2004, had 13,000 on the clock. Pictured here alongside my fathers Skoda Octavia Mk2 Elegance DSG shortly after he bought it. (I have ALWAYS been envious of Dad's Octy with DSG, and this is why Car #5 is going to be one of these for me!! see below ;))

I did 34000 miles in this car bringing it up to 47000. Sold it because the inlet manifold broke and I wanted to change to diesel as I was then doing something like 27,000 miles a year. It was a brilliant car, and again I regret selling it... Car #4 was a bit of an impulse buy as well (I should have gotten a cheap diesel as opposed to what I did...)

45947561px2.jpg

Car #4

2006 "06" Seat Ibiza FR 1.9TDI Oct 2006 - Jan 2009

Name - Imogen

Start Mileage - 9600

End Mileage - 59600 (ish)

Sold for - should get 5200-5500 in part ex for Car #5

So, car #4 was my first proper performance car. It's a diesel, did 55mpg which was great for me due to my mileage.

Bought it as an Ex-Fleet, had 9,000 on the clock and was 6 months old when I got it. It now has 59,000 on the clock, so I've certainly driven it a bit ;). Excellent car, bags of fun. Only complaint is that it's a bit "cheapy" feeling inside, being a SEAT. Oh, and it's too sodding small really. I do 4-5 LAN parties a year, and generally completely fill the little Ibiza.

Soo, as the economy is now meaning that cars are silly cheap, and I've now moved up a few notches in terms of salary, I've decided to go and buy a car like my dad's :D Started looking into VRS's but knew it would be a silly purchase.

Car #5 - POTENTIAL

2006 "06" Skoda Octavia II Elegance DSG, 2.0 TDI PD 140 Jan 2009 - ?

Well I've only got a deposit down on this car so far, but pretty sure I will be buying it soon :)

Looking forward to getting in and testing it, making sure all is well with it :)

  • 3 months later...

Hey, i posted a while back stating that i had owned 2 cars (84" Suzuki SJ410 + 97" Skoda Felicia) but now, im moving on to a 91" BMW 525i (E34)!:D Bought for £150.

It is a brilliant car, and i just love doing donuts and powerslides (Not on the roads, im still just 15;)) and the funny thing is, is that its more powerful than both my dads cars (Land Rover Discovery 3(Beast) + Subaru Forester), my mums car (Renault Clio) and my big sisters (Citroen ZX)! I know, lots of cars, but now my big bro is learning to drive in a few months, hes getting my Felicia:thumbdwn:

Anyway, heres a photo:
