Side light bulbs !

Featured Replies

how do they come out !!!

just fitted some silvervision indicator bulbs, some extreme power head light bulbs, and ive got some better side light bulbs but i cant get the buggers out !

couldnt find the bulb section in the manual either

They just pull straight out, but are a snug fit and awkward to get to, so they seem stuck.

Gentle persuasion will get them out.

so, they dont twist then pull, like most side lights ?

naa they just pull out but like someone said they seem stuck but theyre just held in well:D

Put a glove on, preferably with a grippy section on the fingers, saves mashed up knuckles. So much easier to pull out.

how much are silvervisions?

The bulb holder pulls out, and the bulbs are a push-fit item into the bulb holder as well. :)

i changed mine about 2 weeks ago and spent a good 20 minutes pulling twisting and yanking to no avail. Got that desperate that i even consulted the handbook  to see if there was a special technique.

Book says just pull so i went back and first time it just slid out.

******ing thing!

and as a side note who's stupid idea was it to locate the battery soooo close to the passenger side cluster! :thumbdwn: Lucky i have spindly litte hands!

One of the reasons I moved mine to the boot. :D I now have (comparatively) more trouble with the offside one due to the fuel filter/FMIC pipework :D

well you will go and fill your engine bay with all those go faster bits jase!

Fitting sidelight bulbs.........cue the tattered knuckles and loads of swearing, ranting and raving lol

LOL, thanks for the sympathy, seems everyone has done this at some point :D

I found that the drivers side was easy to pull out, but I found the passenger side a pain to come out

wwooooooo finally got around to doing them, and with the help of some needle nose pliers, out they came !

the philips blue vision side lights are really good, a LOT less yellow than standards

I fitted a set of 30W (yes you read that right!) LED sidelights the day I bought the car! And you are all right - I tore a chunk 1/2 inch out of my right thumb knuckle!

Just a quick one Brun, How much were they? Where from? Are they really blue or just subtle? Are they e approved?

Cheers :)

got em free with my order from power bulbs

they are not blue, but the blue coating on the bulb filters out the yellow giving you white light

Where did you get those from?

Yeh I want to know too! They must be pretty darn good for such a small little bulb?! Im kinda of wondering if its possible to have that much power in a small bulb?

got them off ebay - they have 6 small LEd's all run at 5W each = 30W. They are almost as bright as the headlights on my old Scirocco! Cost me £6.99 + postage!

Are they plastic? as I cant see them lasting long being so close the the headlight bulb. Ive got some alloy cased LEDs from ultraleds, theyre the only ones that have lasted a loooong time! (3 years now), but they are only 5w.

Nope - they have a metal body

I have the 5 LED sidelight bulbs in my fabia. Are very good indeed. Mine were roughly £5 all in from USA, but this was when it was $2:£1.

Do you have a linky?! Cant seem to find them. I might need to invest.....

I bought the last 3 sets the guy had at the time - 1 set in my Polo - 1 set in my Fabia - 1 set I sold to a guy at work for his Corsa VXR

I think he was called GXXLED's???
