i re-arranged the letters on my mk2 golf so it said GIT, used to get people behind at the traffic lights laughing for some reason

Yes also we have a 55 plate Passat taxi in Bournemouth and the owner of that has rearranged his badges to read " Sad n past it".

My mate has a 1380cc turbo mini, and got the original 998 badge.

Thats quite funny.

Oooh, i'd nearly forgotten about this one i seen recently.

Can anyone tell me whats wrong with it?

It's on the wrong side!

This is one of the issues with people who put BMW Motorsport badges on lawn mower engined BM's. They put it on the wrong side, or they'll put it next to the 316i badge or they'll also put an Alpina badge on the other side as though both these tuning companies have had a go at their pride and joy, giving it the cream of their tuning capabilities!

Remember back in the day all the escorts that had been made to look like escort cosworths with the 'picnic table on the back'. But the REAL cosworth had a different chassis to the normal escort, so the body kit wouldn't fit and it made the car look like it'd been driven off the roof of a building!

The R32 badge is on the correct side....

i thought it was on the wrong side until I saw this pic!!

On my way to Milton Keynes on Friday, saw a Citroen C1 with a discreet V8 badge on it. Almost looked oem.

Would be a hoot to drive if it was ! :D

I suppose people like tarting their cars up with flashy Badges & Stickers, makes them think their cars unique :goodvibe:

Just as bad is people with fast cars driving at slow pensioner speeds everywhere.

or folks with 1 litre motors thrashing them trying to do 0-60 in 3 seconds.

or worse still 4X4 turbo drivers, whose cars only go off road when it's parked on the kerb

Back in the 80s and 90s i remember seeing loads of Fiats with Fire Engine badges on them.

Anyone could see that most were not red, didnt have a ladder and blue lights on the roof and no where enough room for 6 blokes in breathing apparatus, generator, cutting gear, hoses and 2000 litres of water!!

Well guess what i parked behind this morning.. a vxr frontera.. sweeeeeeet

Back in the 70s (yes, I'm old), Ford used to use a "Sport" sticker on a lot of their cars, which must have been one of the most over-used badges in history. Everyone and his mate had one on their 1.1 Escorts and 1.2 Vivas.

My favourite was a hand painted (!) Mini I used to see, that had a badge that said "TURDO" on the back!

My very first car was a Mk1 1.1L Golf

On a trip to a scrap yard (where I'd got all my spares) I came across the shell of a VW Rabbit (Golf in the US).

I just had to have the badge - so my Golf had "Rabbit" across the back.

Was a nice talking point as nobody knew what a Rabbit was.

In a village i lived in years ago there was a genuine Rabbit and it was MINT. Jet black, and immaculate. Looked and sounded fantastic as it used to fly up the road. i bet its worth a few quid too.

A mate of mine used to have a similar badge that he got in Germany, later upgraded to a "Power Rabbit" -the other name for the Golf GTi!

I just did a Google image search for a "Power Rabbit" badge. Unfortunately, safesearch was off, and I got some unexpected results......:o

Guy i worked with had a Bora TDI, and moved the T to the end of Bora, so he drove a BORAT

i can honestly say i've never seen ford use the name sport on any of their cars.

Nearly as bad as an Octavia with BMW badging..:rofl:

Well, they do look very similar... ;)

I reguarly see a l-reg nissan micra on my way home from work that looks like its driven through a branch of halfrauds. Theres every conceivable badge on there, 16V, GTI, Type-R, VXR, Turbo, i'd love to get a picture once but im always driving.

And at my parents house there is a BMW 525i across the road that the owner put M-badging on, and a 3-series has appeared down the road doing the same. They're older and before the days of the M-sport pack so no excuses.

Chap in my classic car club has a Triumph Spitfire with a 3500 V8 badge from a Rover on the back.

To be fair though he has got a V8 3500 engine under the bonnet:)

Bloke done my road has put an RS4 badge on the back of his Smart Car

i know someone who had a citroen 2CV with a V12 Badge on it.

It had massive rear wheels and all the gubbins to look quite good. Turns out when a friend of mine tried to burn it off at a set of lights in an RS2000 escort that it indeed was a V12 2CV

The bloke who owned it spent £27k putting in a Jag V12. They had to remove the passenger seat to fit it in with the gearbox and had concrete in the boot to stop it taking off

Edit: Just found it on Youtube :rofl:YouTube - citroen 2cv v12

Not good qual video but it was about 10 yrs ago:rolleyes:
