Deer, deer, deer!

Featured Replies

At least the deer didn't jump at the last moment! It's weird how it's kind of all squeezed in through such a small hole...

I'd imagine that most of the blood and guts and bones are still on the autobahn. That looks like the pelt popped and released the contents.

:repost:...................... :P

Must have stank :( I don't envy the techie who had to clean that one out :o

Lovely description................. Oh dear, feel my breakfast coming back................

Oh that's grim.

Ollllllld pictures, must have been doing the rounds for over a year now. Not nice.

Lucky escape for the driver, deer often end up in the drivers seat.

I hit a fox the other week, luckily it ducked & only cracked the spoiler and went straight underneath. Not a pleasant sound though as it bounced along the undertray.

How the **** … ?????

It would still have had to push through the grill as well. It could have ended up in nice neat venison steaks. Hmmm, tasty.

That is bizarre though, and a touch macabre. At least it wouldn't have known too much about it. Bet the driver's still shaking though

I hit an elk when driving in the states - that was scary - was still shaking a bit the next day. Found out that a lot people get seriously injured or killed by elk collisions. Wrote off a F350 Pickup.

Ohh my, that is nasty

Took over a Landrover when in Africa that had had a KUDU attack (actually it attacked Kudu - drove into it's legs )-Kudu rolled over and rolled down cab -(result flat cab Landy)-and passengers dived into the footwell .

Kudu - imagine something the size of a giraffe ,twice the weight with massive horns and a short stubby neck ,and damned hard to spot at night .

But ,from experience of buying meat on the farms - far nicer tasting and less chewy than venison ( and ,oh, Im not talking shop venison -once spent a week on the Isle of Rhum - where all get a weekly ration of venison -so I've had venison stew/roast /liver/mince/sausages - in fact venison anyway posible -and those islanders had had many years to ponder the possibilities .

Reminds me of the time i hit a deer at 70mph in my polo gt, lets just say both the polo and bamby died that day!! not much you can do, just hoped over a wall!!

They're massive! Must have been a hell of a bang.

Elks are massive too. Be like hitting a horse I would have thought.

From my time in Zimbo - two options - hit deer (large or small) -things go bang

try to brake ,skid etc and end up rolling vehicle with bangs/wallops /bent chassis .

So take yer pick -

Mine - get out the KNIFE ,and prepare for venison supper:eek: .(At least you won't starve till help arrives ):rofl::rofl::rofl:

I once hit a pigeon on the M18. I still have flashbacks even now.

Not really, they're made out of spit and bits of string :D

its when they fly straight into your windscreen and all you have left is feathers and blood... mmm nice!

made a massive bang tho!

Never seen one like that before - I often end up picking up deer carcasses off the roads where I work - Can't for the life of me figure out why if someone hits a deer they just f**k off home and leave it to die without calling us...

Possibly gone home for a big knife and help ,and then someone comes along and nicks their roadkill supper

Must be awfull for them ,stuck in the (PUN)of a dilema- do I kill it and take it home ,or go home for a knife and help

had pheasent go through the windscreen on a van, it looked at first like i had hit someone with the windscreen caved in and blood on it. couldnt find the bird afterwards just some feathers trapped in the broken glass plus glass all over me (thank god sun visor was down to protect my eyes).

Ive seen what deer can do to your car so dont envy the driver.

Oh my:eek: There's a lucky BMW tech out there somewhere that's going to have a nasty shock:rofl:

Still, could have been worse........

Where I live, the deer always come to the road at night...hate the damn things, I've had a fair few 'moments' shall we say.
