Just noticing that quite a few folk on here have chosen an elegance so was wondering is it just me who has opted to have the lunas fitted instead of the thermisto ones? If any one had went for the lunas would they be so kind as to post a few pics for me.

cheers

We also went for 18" Luna Alloys for much the same reason.

As it happens we had a day out in the car today (We did the Suffolk coast). And I took some Photos, maily to show my poor new Car could do with Washing. Again.

Anyway - happy to email this to you. Don't really want to upload them because I don't have time to block out the number plate.

Send me a private message I'll sent the photos by email.

I still dont understand why people block out the number plate ? everyone who sees your car on the road will see the plate so waht difference does it make. am i missing something ?

So when you cut someone up, they dont know it was you (except by posting on the "was it you" section of the site )

back on topic, regarding Alloys, from memory, the Luna's looked a lot like the old ones on the MK I, and I fancied a change. I presume most people chose the Luna's for ease of cleaning, but isn't that what the hand car wash is for

Slightly O/T, but having been a victim of car cloning, I wouldnt wish it on anyone. A previous car was cloned using the reg from its ebay advert, and it took me more than six weeks of grief to get everything sorted. Basically I was accused of a serious traffic offence, and the onus was on me to prove that it was not me. Letters, witness statements and so on were needed to clear my name. The car was not cloned locally, because the incident occured miles away from where the car was used.

Placing the reg on the web makes it even easier for non local people to get your reg number, and as I found out this is a real pain.

I have opted for the 18" Lunas but unfortunately I will not be able to show you any photos until March the 1st. I thought that they looked nicer and also easier to keep clean.

Appearance is personal, isn't it. Not so sure your right on the cleaning side though. I got my car at the weekend with Thermisto's and am pleasantly surprised just how much space there is to get into the inner rim. The 'double arms' mean you can see what's behind the spokes and also get a thin brush through. It's much easier to clean than the 5 spoke I had on the Mark 1. I quite liked the Luxons but they have even more spokes and look more difficult to clean - but haven't seen them in real life.

I will have to retract my comments about me looking forward to getting my 18" Lunas. I have just found out today that our transport manager who ordered the vehicle forgot to specify that I wanted the Lunas. Now I am looking forward to the Thermistos because I have no choice.
