Well I've only gone and bought a VRS

Featured Replies

The deal has been done on an 06 plate, black, with 14500 miles on the clock from a Skoda dealer. Paid around £7500, might have been able to do a bit better if I had waited a while but the low mileage and warranty were attractive.

Pick it up next Monday, can't wait.

Nice low milage there, Good buy, welcome to club vRS.

Thanks. A lot of helpful posts on here while I've been looking round. Next, I'll need the help and advice on upgrades.

There is no such thing as silver thats just where skoda let one slip threw and forgot to paint it

:P

It was between sprint yellow and red for me. Finally went for the yellow and im dead chuffed with it. Only thing i miss is the metal flake you get in the black, look really good polished up in the sun

Nice one - sounds like a good buy, nice low mileage too :)

Enjoy it!!

[lemon yellow's best tho ;)]

Excellent deal. Black is great, Race Blue even better :D

Hortons at Lincoln. Had a look at one there just after Christmas but couldn't agree a price. Happy with this one.

Thanks again for the heads up on the dodgy one. Does look like it's gone though.

Yeah, like the blue SE but would have taken a fair bit more saving up.

Hortons. My son bought one there yesterday. That's 3 (vrs) in the family now. He picks it up at the weekend.

Must have been a silver one then? Looked nice too, 2005/6 models don't seem to stay in dealers very long.

Welcome to the VRS brigade mate. Enjoy it!!! We all do!

Red is best! lol

I remember when I first drove mine.... I sat inside and caressed her gently. The leather on the steering wheel was still matt, the white parts of the seat trim were as bright as a full moon. I paused then before firing up her sturdy heart to remember that moment for posterity, as I recite it to you now. I looked at the dash and wondered if I would ever again own a car with only 7 miles on the clock? The drive home was careful as you can imagine, as were the next couple of thousand miles. After that, I started to push her for speed. Quite hard sometimes, thrashing her around like a gokart possessed by Beelsebub. She's been a good car. The slug of torque is a pleasure. I wait until 2000rpm is reached before giving it some to spare the clutch and flywheel. I treat her with love and affection and occassionally treat her a bit rough, like a fiesty beeyatch.

Ooer. I'll give some thought to caressing her gently but may find somewhere quiet first :)

I know exactly what you are talking about. Mine had 26 miles on it. Now has 26,000. If i use a good quality leather cleaner i can still get the matt feel back on the steering wheel for a short period. It felt sooo good when it was new. And the key was slightly stiff when turning the ignition. When i got it home i went in the boot to find the floor mats still in the celophane bags. I fitted them in seconds. They looked stunning. Deep clean plush black with perfectly clean white trim and of course the vRS logo. I then found another little bag with the alloy centre caps and wheel nut covers. My first new car and what an experience. Sometimes it's worth the depreciation just for that feeling.

Although the initial excitement of a new car has gone, it was re-vitalsed about 14 months ago when i went for the remap. Totally re-invented the car for me and 14 months later i still never tire of the power. I get pretty bored of cars easily but this thing is still so addictive.
