Angel Tuning Remap

Featured Replies

Got an appointment with Angel on Friday afternoon to remap my VRS TDi, I'll keep you posted on the results.

They did a chip on my old Alfa 156 V6 and I was impressed with the results and for £250 its a shed load cheaper than Bluefin. Anyone else used Angel???

They remapped my 07 octy tdi 3 weeks ago. I'm very happy so far. They arrived on time and the job was done in 1.5 hrs. 35 extra hp for a very reasonable price. (ireland and euros)

They did my Fiat Stilo...and were very good. They are highly rated in the Fiat forums. My car was a scream to drive...however I found it too brutal. My Mrs used to get car sickness as her head was always going backwards and forwards every time the boost kicked in.

Not sure what their map is like on the Skoda tho.

guys a was thinking about getting my Vrs TDI remapped but i've had the dpf regeneration prog intalled and was wondering if this would make any difference to the dpf setting and would i need to get the dpf prog reinstalled afterwards??

oh and £250 thats a bargain. Do you know of any in the central belt of scotland or the north of england. if not do you have the website address for angel tuning??

cheers mate

I've just had a look at their website and it all seems very good. I'd be interested to see what you think once it's installed, as I'll be looking into this later on in the year.

What Stilo did you have? I had an Abarth just before I bought my vRS. loved the 5 cylinder warble as opossed to my tank like rattle i have now. (and no its not the variator lol)

Ring Nigel and have a chat or send an email....you'll normally get a response within a day.

Angel are highly regarded on the Alfa forums, particularly on the Alfa diesels...I was impressed with the service, professionalism and most importantly the map on my 156 V6, even though power increases on a normally aspirated petrol are quite low.

cheers dude

They travel all over the shop too so are bound to be in your area sometime soon.

good stuff ma man. just sent away an enquiry the now so hopefully be hearing from them tomorrow sonmetime.

I had the 115JTD, however when I got the car it had a faulty maf so assumed it was only 80bhp.

Anyway when Nigel came to sort it, he replaced the MAF as well so it transformed it into another car.

But my car was a bit of a lemon...and everytime I floored it, the engine management light came on. Think it was due to, too much boost.

Even tho I had soo many problems with my Stilo I still loved the car...mainly cos it put a smile on my face when I drove it cos of the remap.

The Skoda is a completely different drive..its more refined and power delivery is smoother...so I still drive fast...but don't feel like booting it like I did in the Stilo.

Let us know how you get on...would be interested to find out how smooth the map is.

Was remapped yesterday afternoon....met Nige at Hartshead Moor services on the M62 yesterday afternoon....him in the coolest Fiat 500 I've seen!!!

Only driven it home (albeit the long way) and first impressions are that the engine pulls so much harder. Still nice and smooth but the wave of torque comes on so much stronger. I'm suitably impressed so far.

I'll update further when I've had a chance to give her a full run out.

How much did they charge in the end? do u no the power/torque increases?

Price was £250 inc VAT but Nige was in the area already so I don't know if that made it cheaper.

Increases are 35bhp and 60 lb/ft of torque - quoted but not measure on a dyno, yet!!!!!

Be interested to hear if it pulls away any more sprightly from rest (i.e. low down the rev range).

Sounds good

Nigel quoted me £340 (mobile) for 40-45bhp, 44lb/ft, then took 10% off a few days later, mines the petrol, but it shouldn't make that much difference in price.....should it? a re-map is a re-map, surely!

Power is still limited in first otherwise I'd be leaving black lines everywhere!!!!!

Its very easy to break traction in second and third too and the pick up form 2000rpm is tremendous......and it pulls much harder at high revs too, all the way up to and past 4500rpm where previously it was all a bit breathless over 4000rpm.

Will give a full review when I've had a good run rather than just pottering around. Been driving with a very heavy foot for the last day........its making me laugh out loud its such fun....kids have both got whiplash!!!! lol

I'm afraid I don't know about their pricing policy.

Tom from Angel Tuning paid me a visit today - in the rather mental Fiat 500 - after just an hour of toying with my ECU we headed out for a test drive........:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I am completely blown away by the difference! its smoother, more responsive and pulls like a freight train especially in 3rd......the increase quoted by Tom was 40 bhp and 55 lb/ft torque over and above standard, I have to say so far I think those figures were very conservative, all in for £300 although it was a bit cheaper than normal as they were in the area tuning another car (thanks to that guy for covering my mobile charge)!

I would certainly recommend them to anyone, even if its just to see the awesome Fiat 500!

Yeah I got a call from Angel the other day quoting the same price. I was expecting it to be a touch cheaper.

Trust me, its a small price to pay for the end result.......

Here here!!!! 35bhp and 60lb/ft is conservative!!!!

My map only gave me 30bhp, but 94lb/ft of torque ;-)

I've used Nigel before on my VW PASSAT TDI-PD and also got a discount when i arranged for my mates Fabia VRS to be done at the same time - about 10% discount i think for 2 or more. Highly recommended!
