Bosch Retro-fit Aero Wipers

Featured Replies

I have just bought and fitted some Bosch retro-fit wipers and they look brilliant:thumbup:, but when I use them the outer edges of the drivers side wiper does not seem to wipe.

Do others find this or is it just mine and my luck i.e If it can go wrong it will go wrong? If so is this an MOT failure?

Thats funny i had valeo ones that were fine but when needed replaced i fitted Bosch ones. My drivers side is fine but my passenger side exhibited the same problem. Wouldnt think it would be an MOT fail though. Maybe worth giving the screen and blade a wipe.

I have the Bosch ones fitted and mine don't appear to want to bend round screen

The blades are brand new and I cleaned the screen with AG Fast Glass before fitting. It's 1/2 price in Boyes sale, or it was last week.

I think they still do it at moderate speeds, I haven't tried it at motorway speeds yet. I wonder if these will still catch the edge of the screen, as my old ones did in high winds.

My set seem ok. They didn't react well to me trying to take ice off the windscreen with them but they are ok again now. Much quieter than normal ones and don't lift at 70. Money well spent for me.

You could try taking it back off then and bending it slightly. It sounds like its not following the curvature of the screen. That i would understand at a higher speed because they would lift ever so slightly but not at low speed.

I got rid of my boschs - if you think that their inability to bend round the far edge of the passenger side of the windscreen is something, just wait until they get really stiff in the cold and refuse to dip into the slight indentation in your (well, mine) windscreen smack bang in the middle of the driver's line of sight!

(Plus, they seemed to be scraping the windscreen too much for my liking...)

Same thing happened to me, so I got some silicone XOPC aero blades from a group buy on here (might still be running) and they're spot-on

I taught one of the advantages of these flat wipers is there was no external metal frame to freeze up and would work perfectly in cold weather.

At least I can take them back to the shop where I bought them and complain as I did not buy them from the net.

You sure can as there not fit for the purpose or under the distance selling regs. Although there is no external framwork i would have thought there would have been a flat metal rod inside the rubber to keep it taught onto the windscreen. Maybe not.

I've just taken my Bosch wipers off and put on a new set of PIAA silicon ones.

It's a shame that these have a problem as I was looking forward to using them. I have wanted flat wipers ever since the first threads on here about them, I did not fancy the Renault ones as they were different sizes to standard and chose Bosch as they are a well known and trusted make. I suppose as its only the first 1 cm or less missing I will have to live with it and see if it improves with time.

I have herd from some people say that these are the muts nuts and from others they are far too expensive, you might as well buy ordinary ones and treat the screen with Rain-X. IMO they are too expensive for what they are.

THe Bosch ones just need a tweak and a bend at the edges - I've had to do this to all of the flat wipers I've had on all three cars, regardless of whether they have been OE ones or not.

Mine are the same.

they miss the top on drivers side.

They are expensive. I paid £47 for a pair but you can get cheaper ones. (I had the carbon ones and a sporza one for the drivers side which are more expensive)

I have had them before and they are brilliant.
