Okay a quick update for you all, Jon (TaviaRS) and I spent a very wet day in Wales plotting and testing for these days. All I can say is WOW!

More details to follow (as Jon has the notes) but WOW!

oh and if it's dry on the day, double WOW!

More soon...

Its 13mb mpg video preview (240 miles in 2 minutes preview)

Found here.

walespreview.txt, right click to save and either rename or use fave media player.

If it wets your pallet, let us know for more information as to how and where to meet, either starting or for lunch.

mmmmmmmmm :D - that looks fun :bouncer:

I wish I could make it.... GOd Damnit it, but France awaits me! BTW - You know the word "meet" in the thread has a "(s)" at the end of it... Does this mean anything yet?

Looks like I am attending both now France trip has been put off. I think that deserves a :( for France and a :) for the meet/s.

I'm still hunting for info about this weekend BTW. Looking to leave Exeter at 1pm Friday (booked 1/2 day off work) and getting to Oulton Park around 5pm ready for some tea. I'll be looking to spend as much time up there as possible so will be looking for some close, cheap accommodation too. So far all I can seem to find on the web is quite a lot of cash.

Oh! and a ride for the trip in to Cymru. My car won't stand the pace I think.

Cheers

Was gutted to miss this weekend's meet, but am really looking forward to September - as long as I can get time off work that is.

Don't worry about this weekend just gone, Dave. It was really more of a pre-emptive run, than a "meet". I just went along for the ride as I had nothing better to do... honest. :D

I don't really have an excuse tho..... I must be one of the closest to Oulton Park,it's only about a 25-30 minute drive ;)

count me in for sept if i have a car that is need to see what i am working

Fabia - It would be good to get some Fabia's along. I'm hoping the likes of Stimps,Fab16v & FabiaTDI will be coming along too. Sounds like we're going to need a Fabia convoy on its own right (which I'd be happy to organise BTW mods - I've driven the route & have it mapped out in my map in the car...?)

I'll lead the Fabias with my little 1.4 Octavia. :D

How about doing a Santa Pod Thing towards the end of the Santa Pod Year, you know a Run what you Brung.

Some discussion on this in the "quarter miles" thread. Some interest, but not sure if there would be enough for it to justify a "national"... :D

Rob.

It does not have to be a National, that is the whole point of RWYB. You can just turn up and race you mates all day for

Oh right...was a bit confused as you posted in the thread about the national meet(s)... :D

If anything was organised, however, it would be organised by Briskoda, so we'd get to decide how many runs we get for the money! We like it democratic here... ;)

Rob.

K5, have you run yours up the strip? What sort of times were you getting? I took mine to one of the RWYB days (it was Redline last year), only did 2 runs in the end as the weather got a bit "marginal". I'll dig out my figures from the slips if you like, did post them on here somewhere. Would be nice to compare mine to yours, in a friendly, non-competitive way of course ;):D

OK, found the post with my figures in. Was running less power then (about 30-40 bhp less than now) and IIRC it was damp. They used that jet engine thing to dry it off for the starts. Cut and pasted my figures below:

Reaction time: 1.320

60ft: 3.334

330ft: 6.814

1/8: 9.719

1/8: 83.96

1/4: 14.343

1/4: 100.73

Reaction time: 1.140

60ft: 2.732

330ft: 6.915

1/8: 10.102

1/8: 79.30

1/4: 15.348

1/4: 98.81

Not bad really.

Not bad? Pretty Good i,d say, do they have 4x4? your is not standard either i,ll bet!

First time with this Car on the Strip and i got 16.3 which was a comparable time to the 200bhp V6,s on the Day.

I also have to get another Manifold and Exhaust and that should lop off another second.

Nope, mine is FWD. That was with just a mild chip and a cat back exhaust. Now running about 30-40 bhp more so should be a little better.

I'll certainly be at the national meet in September with the little Fabia. Sure it'll give your 1.4 Octy a run for it's money Jon! (In the noise stakes at least) :D Can't wait to see the look on peoples faces as all these Skoda's go tearing by!
