Yeah, 10k is a minor service, so really just changing the oil and having a look round the car.

Find out what their labour rate is!

Rob.

Was at my local dealer's yesterday for the MOT.

Whilst waiting for the cert to be written out, had a gander at the servicing price board thing.

The 1.9 TD engine in both the Octy and Fabia is more expensive to service at all mileages than any other derivative, including the 1.8T in both 150bhp and 180bhp varieties - anything up to

I think the usual price is around the 120-150 mark

Five pence short of

Mine was serviced at a main dealer in Huddersfield (cant remember the name), just before I bought it. I'm sure the previous owner said it was about 90 quid - what happened to fixed price servicing?!

Some 5 months after buying the car, SWMBO had the initial 10K service on her Fabia vRS today. She paid Chathams of Edinburgh

Different dealers have different labour rates surely?

It pays to shop around. :)

I doubt that there's as much as 100% difference.

As a matter of interest, what sort of oil did they use on your wife's car, and what was the price per litre ?

Fabia vRS first service should be 1.3 hours labour plus a oil filter and four to five litres of oil.

You dont need Castrol SLX2 as its not longlife variable servcing, but you do need the PD oil which is about

Not Skoda granted.

It's invoiced as 5W-40 at
