Springs on their own are a great improvement, Graeme is most happy with his.

Of course uprated or adjustable dampers will improve it further still but they are not essential, but if you can stretch to it its well worth it.

Yep, I'm more than happy with mine. Also done about 15k on the lowered springs and standard shocks with no problems with the wishbones at all. :thumbup:

Bit too much understeer though. Think it may be too stiff now. Gonna try taking the lower strut brace off. :D

What difference will the uprated dampers make over changing the springs only?

My feeling is that if I'm going to change it, I'll do it properly, even if it takes longer to save up for. :)

Paul, I'm also looking at the Eibach Spring. What I've decided to do is get the springs first try them out with the standard dampers, hopefully there will be a marked improvement which means I can put the

The only thing you have to bear in mind is that most the cost of suspension will go on fitting... as its quite a big job... and if you did want the dampers later on.. you would have to pay for labour twice :(

After how much a service cost today, I wonder about how any damage not covered under warranty due to aftermarket mods might cost to put right. I dont think I'll be doing anything for a while, if at all.

IIRC John J got awesome gti to fit his... cost about 120+vat that apparently included 4 wheel alignment... altho he had to take his car back the week after as steering wasnt straight.
