Help from 06, 56 & 07 Fabia owners....

Featured Replies

Quite a while i ago i posted that my 2006 vRS didn't advise me when the rear seats weren't properly in position. When the rear seats are down a little seat light should be displayed between the temp gauge and fuel gauge on the dash but mine didn't do this.

Well having had the rear seats down on both our cars today to fit boot nets i found out why mine doesn't work.

It appears as though the switch which is used to tell when the seats are down or not isn't even fitted to my car.

I've attached two pictures to try and show what i mean.

The first is of our 2005 vRS and you can see the black switch on top of the actual catch the the seat latches onto.

The second is of the same latch in our 2006 vRS and as you can clearly see the switch isn't there.

Now what i would like to know is could any of you 06, 56 & 07 reg Fabia owners.... Especially vRS's check to see if your car has the switch fitted to the catch behind the drivers side rear seat. I just want to know if it's just mine that hasn't had it fitted or whether they stopped fitting it to all / certain fabias after a certain date etc....

My 56 vRS does not have the switch

Mine has the switch, and that was from an 05 vRS :)

Mine doesn't have that switch. 06 Reg, bought August 2006.

Miine doesn't have them and it's a 55 plate............?

The switch/warning is only fitted to cars that have a 3 point centre seat belt. As the belt is contained within the seat back rest, it would be quite useless if the back rest wasn't secured properly. The switch will only be fitted to the backrest which contains the seat belt.

Hmmmmm It appears that most post 05 owners don't have this..... so far..... And in regard to Fordfans info..... My car has three rear full three point seat belts and the photo is of the larger rear seat section which has the centre seatbelt attached to it. The plot thickens.

Keep 'em coming folks. And just to remind people this switch is behind the larger of the two rear seat sections.... Drivers side on UK cars anyway.

My SE doesn't have a switch. It does have a 3 point centre belt though.

my 56 vrs has a 3 point belt and no switch

No switch on my 56 plate and as all late vRS' it has a 3 point belt in the middle.

I've got the 3 point centre belt (and 3rd rear head rest so na na :P). But I still don't have the switch???

Mine is an 06 and no switch, had the rear seats down last week and no light was on the dash !

I have seen the switch on some polo's ive had at work while the old caddy was in at the dealer for stuff.....

Feb 07 - no switch.

55 Plate, no idea about the switch but I have noticed the light once or twice when the rears have been down.

Then you must have the switch!
