Nightmare Saturday night

Featured Replies

I managed to dig out those arms and nut caps out for you last night. :) So give me a shout if you want me to drop them off sometime, or you can pick them up from mine.

Have you got your car back in your possession now?

Thanks mate, I'll give you a call later and maybe come and get them this evening.

Car is back on my driveway as of 1pm today. :)

Nice to hear you're ok - don't forget ( and NO anything intended - it's not only YOBBS that sit on motorways /DC at that time of night -

Removed the broken bits and tidied it up tonight - it's not as straightforward as I thought though. I think it will have to go to my local bodyshop as the metal sill under the windscreen is bent right out of shape so much so that a new windscreen can't be put on with it like that :thumbdwn:

Anyone know if this is an easy repair for a bodyshop to do?

That mate is an insurance claim because i dont think that will repair as im almost sure that the sill is part of the bulk head and that could be a bloomin expensive repair ....I really feel for you buddy

My mate who runs a body and paint shop has just rung me back and said a large percentage of the strength of a car comes through the windscreen being bonded in and if the seat isnt perfect it will stress and constantly crack screens plus if it is repairable it will be an engine and dashboard out job . sorry mate

this is a real shame mate but i think its deffo an insurance job and dont be suprised if they write it off

Sorry to hear about the car. You going to go through insurance?

P.S. Hannah says hello.

Just spotted this. Glad you are OK. Hope the scrote that threw the brick dies of a very painful cancer, very slowly, very soon.

Chris

It's disgusting that people with that kind of mentallity are allowed to roam the streets in a so-called civilised country.

You were lucky the drop wasn't higher/you weren't travelling faster or the outcome could have been much worse. Must have been a scary experience.

Hope they get the litle scrote, or as others have said karma exacts revenge on your behalf!!!!

hows it going on this?

what have you decided to do?

all the best

billy

I also am really glad you are o.k Jamie. Sent you a PM as well. Agree with the feelings expressed elsewhere about the lowlife that did this. Glad you are o.k: that's the main thing. I'm sure the car will be able to be fixed up, bodyshops can do amazing things these days and there are some real craftsmen out there:thumbup:

Quick update - the car went into a local bodyshop most of last week to get the windscreen sill sorted. Auto windscreens had to come out and remove the old one and give the bodyshop a new screen so they could make sure the sill was lined up right with the new screen. They called me on Friday to say it was finished but have to wait until today for the windscreen people to come back out and fit the screen before it's drivable. So hopefully I should be able to pick it up tonight or tomorrow... hasn't been much fun running around in my Mums 1.3 Fiesta for two weeks
