Scirocco

Featured Replies

Anyone driven the Scirocco tdi 140 yet?

Seems a simliar output to the fabia VRS and similar 0-60 time.

Sick of waiting for the fabia VRS so may get one?

Any opinions?

I have an opinion....

Why on earth aren't they putting the 170 CR diesel in it?!?! It's meant to be a performance coupé!?!?!

Crazy.

Go for it. Gorgeous cars, but I'd go for the petrol one. Unless you really need a diesel. (only tightarses buy diesles)

:iagree:

They are beautiful. Especially in white.

I also have an opinion.

A sporty coupe-esque car should not sound like a tractor!

Lovely car, but really needs to be the Petrol version due to the way the car looks. Fabia VRs gets away with it, as it's not exactly drop dead gorgeous, even in very dim light

I still haven`t seen one on the road yet, has anyone actually bought one yet.

I have only seen the one on the road, and agree, it must be petrol :)

They will be, theyve also put the CR170 in the new Golf and called it the GTD, so i imagine they will do the same for the 'Roc.

I'd driven the 2.0l petrol and it was great fun.

The diesel isn't really significantly cheaper and yet the petrol is surprisingly economical in terms of co2 and mpg.

It costs a good bit more...

I see one nearly every day now (not the same one) and they do look nice till you get to the rear which is well.. very Sir Mix-A-Lot which spoils the whole car.

And yes a sporty-coupe should not sound like a tractor... :D

I've seen a couple.

Don't like it much. Just doesn't work for me. I think I'm the only one.

I like the Golf GTi better.

VW having a little problem with rear end styling at the moment ...

... have you walked behind one of the new golfs recently?!?!

Seen a fair few about (life near a VW dealer).

I think unless you do mega miles then the 1.4TSI version would be the one to go for

Seen few on the road and they're gorgeous, very wide body and in desperate need of lowering springs. Cant see the point of a 3 door Golf GTi now.

i do like the scirocco, but it does seem to have a fair bit of junk in it's trunk when you're actually up close

It costs a good bit more...

than a car that's not been confirmed, let alone gone into production...

My brother had one for a weekend, green 2.0L petrol one, he thought it was

awesome, very pokey, is it the same 2.0L engine that is in the current Octy vRS??

It is, yes

The Scirocco is gorgeous  but get the 2.0T instead of the diesel!

It's high up on my list of my next car.

Slightly OT..

But has anyone seen the MK6 Golf with is side lamps/driving lights on?

Don't you think it makes it looks abit cross-eyed?:dopey:

Not driven one, but I've sat in a silver 2.0TSI...I think it's gorgeous. Also, the interior quality seems absolutely perfect, really nice. Not a lot of rear visibility mind you.

I think the daytime-running lights look dreadful on the Mk6. I've passed a few on sunny days, and the lights are just annoying more than anything else.

Can they be turned off?

Can they be turned off?

Yes but only once, cannot be recoded again.

Driving lights will be a legal requirement from 2011 on all new vehicles.

I've driven a 140 Jetta which I believe is the same engine. I was very similar in performance to my standard vRS but with a more smooth delivery of the power.

Not much else to say on it was I only had i for a day a while back. Hope this is some help though.
