A litre of vag approved oil.. how much!!!

Featured Replies

I decided to get a litre of oil to sit in the garage today after using the last 1 litre can up last week. I knew it was expensiveish, but £17.99 for a litre of 5-30 vag approved oil at the local shell :o have i been ripped off?

If it's the variable service long life oil, it is expensive but even at that, buying it from a petrol retailer is always going to be a rip off. About £8 from my local motor factors.

I think you was truely bent over, after seeing how much my mechanic can get 5L of genuine VW PD Oil at cost. I was pleasently peev'd off.

I paid less than £22 for 5l of 10w40 oil last week, and that was Mobil Super S

I paid that for 2 litres of Halfords 507.01 a couple of weeks ago.

Just trying to think which local Shell that is, the Marcham road one? They're steep ;)

Some places take the mick!

I got a full oil and filter change with mobil supersynth at kwik fit for only 39 pounds. The oil alone was going to cost me more than that to buy myself.

I did notice they also sold the one litre top ups for 10.99

I bought 2 litres of 'Frauds 507.00 oil for £19.99. I swear blind it was about £14.99 a few months back.

The Mobil1 stuff was £17.99 odd a litre, balls to that.

Same here - and it saves having to work out what spec I need, I just ask for the long life stuff for a PD140

I get mine from Opie Oils.
