New Octavia VRS Geneva Debut?

Featured Replies

Hi

Just noticed in this week's Auto Express that the new Octavia VRS along with the Roomster is listed to make its first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show March 2005.

Anyone else heard about this?

Cheers,

digitrac

Sounds plausible. New vRS is supposedly due end 2005, begin 2006.

nope

Apparently weve got a September launch down for the Octavia II vRS 2.0 FSI Turbo.

only a year to wait then...

So probably the latter for Holland...

Anyway, nice to know it won't be a diesel after all. :D

I'll second that.

I'll second that.

I'll 3rd it...

Trip to Geneva for the launch anyone? :D

I don't want to see it, it'll only end in tears as the wife will devorce me for spending more money on cars

Might be safe as I bet the combi vRS won't be out for a while :D

Having seen a couple of new Octavias "in the flesh" now I'm not convinced I'd buy one. It's just doesn't look as nice as the old model.

i reckon once its been vRS'd it'll look just as good, probably better...

As we have got some members who are either Skoda dealers or work for dealers.

Any one prepard to come out of the woodwork and either confirm or squash this rumour ?

Steve

I've got lost in the engine specs...does the 2.0FSI have a Turbo version? What sort of power/torque are we talking about? Is that the one which is rumoured for the new vRS?

So many questions

2.0 FSI (atmo): 150 hp

2.0T FSI (turbo): 200 hp - engine for the Golf V GTI and the Octavia II vRS

Glad to help... :D

Agreed.

I think the rear end of the mk2 octavia is much nicer than the mk1, however the front looks a bit depressed, although im sure it will look angry-depressed when its rs'st.

i'll be getting one, more gadgets on the new one!!!!

as long as Honda don't bring out the road going RCV 211(MotoGP)bike before the new vRS in released.

otherwise the RCV will win,200+bhp through 1 wheel, what a rush!!!!!

will cost over

30k for a bike?

oh so much more than just a Bike.

someone did a tuned up Honda sp superbike (can't remember the company now but it will come to me) and that was 18k ish a few years ago.

A dealer told me a month or so ago that there would be two versions of the new vRS - one petrol and one diesel. I think the success of the fabia has push them towards a diesel version, but they don't want to alienate the fans of the original as well.

Best of both worlds or diluting the brand?

If I was spending that much on a bike it'd have to be Ducati Desmosedici RR :D

More like market forces at work :)

Though if it's more than 16.5 to 17k i think they'll be making a huge mistake.

I agree, just been trying to do a like-for-like comparison on the new and old prices. the 1.9 Elegance is a grand more expensive. Using that logic it should fall into the bracket you've given.

Look at all those options though!

Fully spec'd 140 TDi Elegance weighs in at circa 19K on the skoda.cz "configurator" (why don't Skoda Uk have this?)

I bet the UK price would be 21-22 K...for an Octavia that's a joke.
