Magic REVO box?

Anybody got any experience of the REVO switchable remap for the Fab vRS?

Any good? What about economy, service intervals, mechanical failure?

Any help would be appreciated, as I'm seriously considering one.

Also, if I buy the switch box thing at

I've got it too and it's great!

Highly recommended here too Steve, oh and welcome to the slippy downhill club fellah!

Been loads of posts in here about Revo, but please note other tuning companys advertise in here and are also highly desirable according to their users.

It's a case of how much you want to spend and how far to travel too! :)

Top notch - I've had no problems at all

Car is smoother, revs better and goes like a train

You could borrow someone else's switch rather than buy one - they dont store any code

MPG is a bit better generally

Bit more smoke but not too bad

180bhp and 300lbs

No clutch problems

But expensive IMO compared to Jabba

Woah.... think your getting your priced mixed up a bit...

the basic revo remap is

holy moly

You dont have to have the SPS box..

thats only if you want to turn it off *why*??

only reason i would possibly want it turning off is to go for service... thats not really an issue as ive got a revo dealer about 15 miles away.

Doer1... i got mine from JBS in chesterfield... altho the most local to manchester is a place in worsley, or Dubsport in warrington

Yeah, not many people buy the SPS1 switches... Not a lot of point if you've got a mod-friendly dealer...

2nd gear wheelspins all the way at the moment! I look like a right chav! hahaha

I think "No Comment" is all i can say. :)

OK, so the remap is

The revo system needs to be uploaded into the ECU first before it can be switched. It leaves the original ECU tables in place and the new code is encrypted... think this is how it works. AMD jobby copies the code from the box to the ECU and back again..

If I buy to box only, will it work or does it require the remap too? My assumption was that stored on the box are 2 lots of ECU settings, and depending on switch position depends which set get uploaded. Is this the case?

The 'box' (SPS1) does nothing without the intitial remap. It is only a tool which allows you to switch between standard and performance modes.

Re: servicing. Don't forget that you don't have to take your car to a main dealer for servicing.

Re: warranty. With any modifications you run the risk of invalidating the warranty. If you don't like the idea of that then don't mod.

If you do mod make sure you tell your insurance company. You are uninsured if you don't
