New Exhaust..which one?

Featured Replies

well im thinking about a new exhaust for vrs in next month or so and dont no which one to get.. so far im thinking of the miltek as it looks great and i seen one video and sounds good too. i think i want like a twin pipe and just wondering if there are any others out there that do it other than miltek?

Also post any other exhaust videos that can change my mind bout them:D

well i know it aint a fabia, i have an octy vRS.. but ive just had a full milltek fitted (inc sports cat d/pipe) today and its sweeeeeeetest sound...

and believe me go for NON resonated, im glad i did now, or i wouldnt have been overly impressed with any less of a sound that i have with it ;)

i have just bought a blueflame which is an oval exhaust and i must say the quality is fantastic, very well thought out imo. Will be fitting it tomorrow so i will let you know how it goes on and how it sounds. I too wanted twin pipes but when i looked more i found the oval pipes seem to suit the fabia nicer

mine got full blue flame de cat....no probs and aint even noisy..

This may be a stupid question so no smirking but does an exhaust such as Milltek make any (noticeable) difference to performance / fuel efficiency on a standard Fabia vRS? What's the lifespan relative to a standard exhaust?

well im not got de cat just yet, leave that for now.

as far as i no the exhaust wont do anything for performance wise

and i cant answer the life span question. like to myself actually?

Theoretically it should reduce back pressure a little and there for the turbo will spool up a bit quicker so bottom end torque should be improved a little.

I'd have though it would last a good while longer than the stock item but them the stock items tend to last pretty well.

ahh i seee sounds good to me, im thinking of going to AMD in essex, anyone think much about these?

toykophil: love the spec on your vrs love to see a couple pics or video of exhaust if you have any?

Cheers mate - i'll try and get a mate to help me get a vid with audio sorted. I will also give a thumbs up for Milltek - really pleased with it.

in theory an exhaust made from stainless steel T304 will last longer than a standard oem one. I've had about 7 or 8 different exhausts made from this steel and it can last alifetime.

and arent millteks warrantied for as long as you own the vehicle i seem to remember??

As for power increases with exhausts, I can't say this is definatly the exhaust, but in Nov last year the car was rolling roaded @136bhp/229lbs/ft with only PD160 and green cotton filter, and then in April at Star with PD160, Green cotton filter, Milltek System with de-cat and Forge FMIC it ran 152bhp before a remap, can't remember the torque figure off the top of my head though.

quote from their website

As long as you are the original purchaser, cat-back exhaust systems are covered by a lifetime anti-corrosion and manufacturing defect warranty and hi-flow sports catalysts and downpipes are covered by a 2 year or 80,000km warranty. We do not cover against any modifications made to our product after it has left our factory and also not for unusual use of the parts - for example, the use of Nitrous Oxide (NOS), damage caused by going over a speed bump too fast etc. Our warranties are offered on the understanding that the cars power maybe increased by up to 33% from it's original specification. Modifications made to increase the power beyond this will render the warranty void.

Hello,

Would anyone know if /when the back box exhaust is replaced, will it have the chrome end fitted, like the original, or, is this detachable and then placed onto new back-box. ??

Thanks. Ian. 11/06/2009 :)

I'd have thought it would come with the end fitting - i'm guessing it would depend upon if your buying a genuine Skoda one or not though.

Ive got a magnex cat back(?) on my vrs and doesnt make any noise inside the car and is not loud outside at all (as far as I know). The car was fitted with this when I bought it. If I had paid out x amount for this exhaust I would of been a bit disapointed as would of been nice to sound a little 'throaty'

My car is not re-mapped and if it was maybe then pushing more air/fuel through would then make some noise.

Not everyone wants a noisey exhaust I know but I would expect something for my money other than a different tailpipe.

Just my opinion-kipsy

jetex now make a system! I have the Prototype on my VRS!

Its normally £280 - but I can get a decent discount on them!

What about making a custom exhaust?

Mandrel bent.... full turbo back. no CAT...straight pipe. :)

Milltek already do a decat pipe

I am having one of them....when i get some money ;)

Sarah

Noise wise, which is the best then?

not magnex
