This is Wega3k's newly modified entertainment/navigation system:-

Seriously though, I hope you sort it out Nick

Swine :)

Wega came accross this which might help you:

For all of you having problem with Gateway(202) error at 10%….. here’s maybe solution for you.

I had the same problem, and couldn’t use my navigation unit. I will tell you how i got my RNS working again.

I found 1020 firmware and put it in my RNS. After setup loading i got message that file EcuOrder.txt does not contain HW mapping or something like that, and that i have to put another disk. Then you should press setup, eject and button next to eject at the same time to reset RNS and leave cd in. Then after reset i got message that my rns cannot downgrade because i have newer version, and after that RNS restarded itself ejected cd and it was working!!!!

Argh - I'm sure in my hidden menu earlier I saw Allow Downgrade was enabled, which presumably puts thee kybosh on the above method.

Anyway I think I have the same problem as you, although last try was a bit odd as the screen just went blank at the Gateway 10% stage and eject the CDR - no message displayed. Now just asks for sw cd again...

The trick you found above didn't work for me presumably because "allow downgrade" was enabled like I thought.

Damn scouter, we've got ourselves into some right old fun and games here I reckon.

I think it's not long before I'm going to be hacking EcuOrder.txt and try just having it do a

RUN_SHELL_SCRIPT 0 DEL_FOLD /cddos/WA/DEL_FOLD.WSH

followed by a FINISHED_DOWNLOAD

All fun and games ;)

No Idea

They can obviously be de-bricked though as Mickey32 had his done

I've now gotten hold of 904 and 1024 (I started off this morning on 1004). Any idea which I should try first? I can't find a link to a 1004 image.

EDIT - just seen your reply on vwnavi mater, thanks!

Your Welcome

Carl:thumbup:

Sometimes it works

A guy on VWNavi had the same as you downgraded to old firmware then re-installed and it all worked

You have nothing to lose tbh

Carl:thumbup:

You have nothing to lose tbh

Sad but true

I've got 'Colambus_1Z_for_A5_(904v2)'. Is that the right variant of 904 Mater? I've seen talk of modified and unmodified.

Don't think so. Im sure i linked the correct firmware.

Hang on i'll see if i can find it

Carl:thumbup:

Didn't see a 904 link from you?

Only a slight hiccup this morning, when I switched the unit on and opened the map function it thought I was in Germany for some reason - soon recalibrated and put me where I should be. Will be intrigued to see where I switch on next time.

The speed limit notices changed exactly where the signs changed as well - very impressive.

Sympathies to those of you having problems loading - hope they are soon resolved.

Now looking forward to the arrival of my 16Gb SDHC card from 7dayshop.

Currently loading Mater's 904. If that fails then it's on to josi (on vwnavi.com)'s modded 904. If that fails then it's off to Poland.

I'm still trying things. How are you getting on scouter?

Have you seen the thread on VWNavi how that bloke has got his working again??

Carl:thumbup:

Same here really. Interesting somebody on Navi has managed to sort it out. I don't know whether the downgrade option on mine was selected or not...
