Custom Code or Jabbasport map??

Featured Replies

I have £300 saved up to map my octy vrs and i have been talking to some mates and a few say Jabbasport and some say custom code.

They both seem like good companies with no complaints but im not sure which to choose.

There is a jabbasport agent near me and they charge £295

Custom code is mobile and is £305 thats with the 20% discount knocked off.

Both give equal power and torque gains but im still undecided

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Dan

 Searching... You're doing it wrong!

Think theres a space in the Unit 18 group remap offer.

jabba out of the two.

but i have no experience of those maps just ive seen and heard worrying thiings about CC

jabba definatly,i ran a extreme jabba map for 2 years and nothing could touch it,they will load the map onto your car, then tell you to go for a drive if there is anything you want tweaking they will tweak it,its more of a custom map than a generic one

Custom code maps are very good it`s just a shame the tuning company that owns/runs Custom Code are very well known for their J ust B ad S ervice .:thumbdwn:

Have you thought of angel tuning.Their also mobile.Same kind of money also.

i have had 2 jabba maps for my vrs mk1 and now on my mk11 ,

just the standard map not custom , the diffrence is amazing ,

when they tell you to try your car its like a totally different car ,

i have had my car up against vauxhall astra vxr , focus st ,

i lent my friends porche boxter 2.7 and it is not as quick as my

vrs .............

I can't speak for Jabba maps as i haven't knowingly had any experience of them, but i have had a CC map on my previous car, and it was a very smooth and strong map.

The car felt sooo much better, and ran beautifuly. I had my car mapped at 4 months old, and sold the car at 44,000 miles with not one fault to report.

Can't speak of JBS's customer service as i never had a reason to go back to them.

I'd have another CC map on future cars if my current tuner suddenly decided to retire.

I've driven a car with a Custom Code Stage 3 and mods to the exhaust and inlet, it was quite an experience I have to say  Couldn't believe it was the same K03S turbo under the bonnet as on my standard car. That said, Custom Code remaps are known for using very high boost pressure (peaking around 21-23 psi) so are putting more strain on things.

Jabba maps have always had a reputation of being good, but have had a chequered past of ridiculous rolling road claims (230bhp with just a remap )

My CC map runs 21psi boost and 201bhp :D Great difference from standard though!

  • 3 months later...

i had a custome code stage 1 map on my old ibiza cupra and it was running 207.2bhp and 275.4ft/lb and it only had a forge recirc dump valve with a yellow spring! and peek boost was around 25psi!

silly amount of boost and will be doing only one think and thats fecking the turbo and other parts for sure.....

not a good map

anyone can map a car to get sheds loads from it but will just make it go bang....

My Revo stage 2 peaks at only 18psi, which is why Revo figures are often down on their competitors. I went for Revo for the reputation and quality though.

Doing it again though I'd use Shark I think (and will be in the new year on the Mrs' car)

I've had 2 jabba maps. a custom on my octi vrs and a generic on my octavia tdi, if I did it again I would stick with the generic and save some dosh, both maps were excelent. Can't comment on custom code as i've never had one.

I completly agree, but unfortunatly I had found out the hard way after having the CC phase1 :'( I had the standard map put back on & It drives so much better, so that tells you something.

  • 3 weeks later...

Id go with the wildcard, joing up to Freedom and get a Shark Peformance map, i've tried a fair few maps (revo, superchips, code red...) on various car, each time i've tried a different company. This time im on my second Shark Peformance remapped car

I've changed my CC map to a Shark one and IMHO it drives a LOT better!
