My car got rammed

Featured Replies

My partner and I went on a short break to the Beara Peninsula in West Cork earlier this month.

A lovely cottage overlooking Castletownbere Harbour - set on the side of a mountain with nothing for a mile either side but sheep wandering the hills.

On the second morning we decided to go for a spin - only to be greeted by the the damage you can see in the attached photos.

It seems as if a ram had taken a dislike to his own reflection in my Octy L&K and decided to give it a pasting. The drivers door obviously took the worst of the damage but he also had a go at the rear bumper. :(

While the culprit was nowhere to be seen my partner Norah wasn't exactly helpful when she pointed to a sheep in the distance whom she said looked a little "sheepish". :sheep:

Still enjoyed the holiday - and Norah did make me feel better later :couple:

Bugger! That's bad luck, at least it wasn't malicious damage by a scallywag!

Make sure the insurance company don't fleece you if you have to make a claim :rotz:

No point claiming on the insurance - I'll either get a second hand door or see if my local bodyshop can repair the damaged one.

Anyway, I don't fancy trying to fill out an insurance claim form explaining how a sheep attacked my car!

Nah 'cos it'll end up on one of those "Funny Insurance Claims" emails that gets forwarded around!

Anyway this is a serious subject, so here's a picture I made for you:

Thankfully I wasn't expecting sympathy from you lot

Anyway the owners of the holiday cottage have offered us another stay there at a reduced fee. Just have to make sure it's not during the "mating" season for the sheep!

Or alternatively leave a ring of mint sauce around the car

Nice to see the owners accepting at least joint liability :o

Have to say guys & gals if ye are ever touring Ireland I would heartily recommend the Beara Peninsula in West Cork.

Fantastic scenery, great people, quiet roads and interesting sheep :D

Would also recommend Ann-Marie and Mike at Eagle Hill Cottage - www.eagle-hill-cottage.com

Now where's the number for the Irish Tourist Board to see if they'll pay me for that cheeky ad!

Perhaps the ram saw its reflection in your car and got horny?
