  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Looks kinda plain. Like when you take your Christmas decorations down.

Sticky vinyl + previous poor insurance repair=

Major service carried out

Finally got round to wiring my dash cam into my Monte. Was sick of the camera battery running out halfway through a journey!

Put the Spiders back on and gave the whole car a wash.

I think it looks sharp still. :)

I agree, looks nice mate

MOT for the wifes Fabia

Empty everything out of it.

Washed the car, fitted new aero wipers and a polo 6R stubby aerial and now it's raining!! Damn you weather!

Got it back from the dealers. It's been to the local VW bodyshop for a warranty repair & respray of the lower half of the driver's door.

Quite interesting to see what somebody else did to my Skoda this week: the Blackview drivecam has captured all the moving around in their compound and inside the bodyshop.

The dealer said it might take all week, but they'd let me know if it would be ready sooner. VW finished with it Tuesday afternoon and it's been parked up since then until the dealer collected it this afternoon :(

The same with an MOT. They really don't do a lot do they. They didn't realise or see my camera till the last minute.

Ordered 4 new tyres as the Fab currently spins in second in the dry.

Fitted a rev D dv

Fitted a strip of LEDs in the boot of the Fab.

Insured it yesterday, taxed this morning! Its only been off the road a few weeks but felt like forever! Just been in the shed cleaning up my lcr wishbones, hubs and subframe. Gave them a good coat of black hammerite and now on the hunt for some super pro bushes. Hoping to do a few trackdays this year.

Gave my Monte it's 2nd ever wash, and the 1st of 2014. Still need to wax it!

Had a 7 1/2 hour session,

2 stage Polish and detail, Gave my front grill a re paint and put the new style Skoda badges on.

Gave the peril a good wash, dressed the tyres, quick flick over inside then fitted the SMD interior bulbs numberplate SMD bulbs as well.

Pulled the boot apart and replaced the bodged wiring with proper connectors and put more zip ties on the washer pipe. Also found where the leftover bolt went from when I did the quick fix earlier in the week.

Cleaned and hoovered the mk1.

Called my octy a rude name when on route to viewing a house a horrible scrapping/squeeking high pitch noise started coming from the front o/s wheel area(was that bad that people were turning round & looking! ) pulled over as soon as it was safe to do so, i took the wheel off & a blooming stone had got trapped between the brake disc & dirt shield........sorry car,not your fault!

Added an LED strip into the boot of the Fab.

Took her for a dual carriageway run to spin the turbo and blow the cobwebs out. In normal use I don't get much above 2k rpm, so blasting happily along at 3.5k was heaven. During a brief spell at 4k a mouse nest blew out of the exhaust... The old girl seems much happier now, more responsive and a little smoother. Back to normal traffic crawling tomorrow.

Cleaned up and sealed the wife's OEM alloys ready to put them back on when she wants them
