  • Picked up the new VRS: 2013 Fabia VRS by Graeme_Smith, on Flickr

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Brembo brakes fitted on Wednesday. Getting ready for Spa in April. The Koni FSD dampers still haven't turned up yet though.

Fitted new rear pads with regard to previous post.

What was left of the friction material on one of the old pads just fell off leaving a bare metal pad!

Took the car for a drive for the first time in 2 weeks since coming back out of hospital just the medicine I needed to cheer myself up.

Sold it

Cleaned it again, though a rather futile gesture given the current weather.

Washed it. Twice. And then a bird shat on it :wall:

Also took it to its first briskoda meet

Removed the front and rear Skoda badges

Also removed the FABIA letters from the rear, leaving just the VRS strip badge

New style badges going on front and rear tomorrow if it's dry

Looked out of my front bedroom window yesterday morning, watching the pouring rain beating down on my Race Blue Vrs, and thought to myself.

That is something special, that I own and enjoy!

Stretched her legs and picked up some more bits and pieces B)

Emptied all of the sundry bits of junk, tools, SWMBO's sweets, Hi-vis tabards, brollies, de-icer, maps, ready to move over to her replacement tomorrow.

I always thought that I carried almost nothing. It's amazing how much crept out of all the various cubby holes etc.

For example - 3 brollies????

Serviced it - full set of filters, all straightforward.

Top tip, I used an old pair of wooly tights and tied them round the fuel filter body which stopped fuel dripping down.

Dropped up the road from work and picked up the pool car. Another fabia vRS, a mk2 though.

What'll keep your legs warm now or can you wash them  :giggle:

Took the old fella to the dealers for a full service at 124001 miles. I specified two weeks ago I'd like a Roomster as a courtesy car. If not then any Skoda is fine but NOT a Nissan.

What do I get? This hateful pile of crap :(

It had a 360o camera that switched itself off over 5mph post-73816-0-29504700-1391454766_thumb.jpg

How the hell can I tailgate as close as possible on NSL roads if the camera goes off above 5mph :(

A hint of diesel merely adds to my allure :wub::wub: :p

my skoda is still in storage till this horrible wet weather has passed, but i went down there and ran up the engine for a while to charge the battery. started ordering some tubing and elbows etc so i can fabricate a 2.5" exhaust system for it

Treated her with fuel, air, oil and pollen filters, some fresh oil and coolant and a new thermostat. Should be worry free now for another few k km :)

Gave my octy vrs a wash and checked under the bonnet for split pipes. Just need to clean inside the car and give the windows a clean.

Well after another week of been stuck in the same chair and in pain I looked at the mrs tonight at 7ish and said how about a ride to Whitby for fish and chips, So off we went to the local garage filled up with shells finest and set off, Got to Whitby bloody hell it was cold but the fish and chips where brilliant. Then I thought well we are this far down lets go to Scarbourgh then cut over to Pickering then to Thirsk around a few back roads I know then head back home. 178  miles total and enjoyed every minute of it, But im shattered now.

Fitted new front badge
