Depends what you replaced it with

I have a 1.6 tdi A3 for another week, it is uncomfortable and slow, next week I will have a 120D BMW M sport pack thingy, this will be mine for 12 months'ish then I can choose again, not liking the looks of the FL Yeti though so who knows what will be next, in the mean time I have to steal the wives Fabia for a fix. lol

Spent the best part of 5 hours yesterday drilling, grinding and hammering the **** out of my front two locking wheel nuts.

the outcome = drivers side is off and changed, the passenger side is yet to give up and I have a feeling it's gonna need drilling out.

So what do we take from this lesson? Don't take your car to a back street garage whilst on a trip away and let the work experience lad windy gun your locking nuts up!!!!!

Took it over to ChrisRs to get some paint correction done and a full polish & seal. It's recently been in for warranty work on zinc blisters on the drivers door, but it looked like their idea of a final polish was a rub down with wet & dry. The phone pics don't really show it as bad as it was, but we got a before & after comparison:

It looked a bit like scuffed orange peel. All sorted now :sun:

Heard a funny noise whilst driving, pulled over to find a very hot disc. Looks like the handbrake isn't releasing. First curry, then time to break out the tools.

Right, ate curry, then had to have a sit down due to the amount of curry I ate. Had a look at the car once I could bend over and the handbrake cable appears to be the issue. The calliper seems to be operating correctly and on a test drive after making sure the cable released everything was fine. The cable seems to stick some times, for now I have removed the ashtray at the back of the jumbo box so I can feel if it has released fully. I think I will price up a pair of new cables tomorrow. Doesn't too hard to change as long as I don't have to remove all of the interior.

Fitted a new rear badge...the proper fitment from a new Fabia

&

Fitted a new headlight part I had broken behind the Mainbeam bulb housing..Thanks Alan

So glad we...eventually....realised that it would be easier to do with the headlight off the car and on the Dining Room table!! :giggle:

2x rear calipers. Front ARB bushes and drop links. Oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, (k&n) wheels, tyres, Koni FSD's, drivers seat, discs and pads all round. That is what I have done over the last two months. Some day, you know, you just plain old hate your car. :wall:

Polished it :)

Looks well smart that.

However, you sir, are in need of a badge on the back! :D New style Skoda would set that right off.

What I did today.... check my PAS fluid. Realise it is low. So low the dipstick barely registered. Oops. Local specialist down the road topped it up with green for £2.

However, the recess is being smoothed out and the tailgate painted ;)

Actually cleaned it myself, cleaned the wheels, checked the tyre pressures, put £40 of diesel in and asked a passing policewoman at the filling station what her view of the front nearside was.

Answer: Legal but iffy on a motorway so that might be another £140 for two new tyres....

Properly cleaned the winters, built the tyre tree and stored.

Tomorrow....vacum the inside and shock! Drive her :).

Cleaned, and waxed. I also used sonax wheel cleaner as well as the detailer for the first time after all the recommendations on here.

It better be good! I used the sonax on the windows as well - is that advisable?
