What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Drove through four countries in one day. Disembarked the ferry at Ijmuiden into heavy rain, then drove towards Utrecht, Hertogenbosch, Eindhoven (Netherlands); through Liege, via Bastogne (Belgium); Luxembourg; then into France via Metz and Nancy, arriving at Saints Geosmes around 6:30pm. The weather cleared up nicely throughout the journey, when we got to Saints Geosmes it was sunny with blue skies and twenty degrees :-) Saw a few nice old cars including an old Ford Mustang. In France, so far I've seen two Citroen 2CVs, one Citroen Visa, an AX, a BX and two XMs :-) There were three or four Gendarmes doing spot checks on cars in the town. An early start tomorrow and drive a little further South.

Almost sounds like my summer road trip last year. Nice one  . I'm jealous a bit

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Pictures of what?

Yesterday, I dropped the back seats and went to pick up my shiny new mountain bike.  Good job it fit in the back as I discovered the bike is too big for both of the roof rack bike carriers I have.

Pictures of what?

Thanks

Saturday I replaced the rear discs and pads. Pretty simples with the right tools. Pain in the :swear: without them. Took three trips to Sureparts, but got it done. Pretty glad I did as well, old discs were badly scored and the pads were literally beginning to crumble. Bit creepy knowing I was relying on those to stop me.

Today, I'll be getting Helfrauds to install a new DAB stereo and aerial so I won't have t rely on my questionable CD collection for entertainment!

Thanks

Did the link i sent you for pics not work.?

Took my Octavia down to Chamonix driving via Dijon, Dole, Champagnole and Morez, up, over and down a nice hilly, twisty road ending at Gex in France, all of 15 minutes passing through Geneva in Switzerland, then back into France and now at Chamonix for a couple of days. The odo went over the 130,000 mile mark in the morning too. Nice scenery here, sunny today but rain forecast for Tuesday.

Got it covered in sand driving on Blackrock Sands

Wanted to drive it but had to use a BMW X1 instead.

Whoop whoop MOT passed.

Showed her off to the people interviewing me for a job today... they loved it

Towed the "tin snail shell" back home to wash and get ready for a couple of days away.

Are you on variable or fixed servicing?

Hi, variable but now passed 9000 km's I thought it could be good ...

Got broken spring fixed

You'd be better having the car switched over to fixed servicing then. Replacing the oil and filter while variable is set can end up confusing the oil quality sensor.

Hmmm, I hope the Skoda dealer garage knows what they are doing ... ;-)

... and just now I fitted some fabric sun shades for the rear windows ... a complete set from SuperSkoda.com.

Your first post gave the impression you'd done it yourself! If it was the dealer, then yes - I'd hope they knew what they were doing as well!

I'm just about to take my car to get one tyre fitted, and the spare tyre replaced with an all-season tyre. Hopefully the post individual will drop off some goodies to improve my dashcam too.
