What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Had a tidy up of the engine bay and finally fitted the battery cover I've had in the shed for about a year!! Needs a lick of paint to make it look nice though.

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

What ya get?!

What ya get?!

Nothing special unfortunately, just new badges:

With the discount/sale they had on, it was cheaper than going to the dealers. :)

Nice. Will look good on B)

De tarred it, washed and polished.

And had a glass of whiskey in the process :)

drove it and then it all went very wrong. Got to garage about 1/3 mile away and they suspect a dropped valve in the old Superb.

Washed the mk1 and fitted wind deflectors to the mk2

Had some stuff arrive for it today..... MTec Super White bulbs for the front fogs, Pipercross panel filter (Brand new for £20 off fleabay) and a proper Skoda warning triangle that fits properly in the holder in the boot..... Just need mi car back to fir 'em all now. ;)

Acted like a tool.

Fitted a bike rack to the back and in the process removed the fuse for the rear wiper... Fuse 32. Clever...

But, fuse 32 is right next to fuse 24. And if you remove that one instead, it turns out the car runs like a bag of nails.

The worst thing is it took me about 2 hours to work out the issue. What a knob!!

Got it ready for its MOT tomorrow.

Got it washed, changed all the wiper blades, checked all the bulbs and fluids, checked all the tyres. I just need to take it for a good run in the morning to ensure it's good and warm when they test it.

Took it to it's first ever Brisky meet.... And popped another couple of Brisky stickers on so she must be touching 200bhp now surely!!!! ;)

Took it to the meet, and bought it a set of Fabia mats and a pair of Brisky plate surrounds, not fitted them yet (although thanks to Colin for his offer of a screwdriver) because I'll clean round and behind them while they're off and I'll have to get some new screws and caps and possibly even a new front plate to replace the slightly broken one.

Loaded it up with my winter alloys and tyres and took them to the tyre fitter to be fitted to each other :)

While I realise it's not quite the time for winters (don't worry I didn't put them on the car) I needed to find some space in the garage, so having the tyres actually on the alloys means they take up less space :D

Saw a cloud of insects hovering above the road just north of Scarborough, when I got up to them realised they were bees and then the windscreen yellowed out when I hit them! Lovely!

I don't think honey is a good windscreen cleaner lol

Car is just over a month old, 1700 miles on the clock!   Picked up a stone chip on the Heathrow Airport Perimeter Road last night - saw the bluidy chipping's trajectory flying off a tipper truck's back wheel a describing a perfect trajectory arc for Roger Rapid and not a thing I could do to avoid it!   Thank you "Cappagh" - wash your damned wheels when you come off site in future!

Autoglass Repair, Autoglass Replace, Autoglass coming round to do the business in the morning!   ;)

Spent over half an hour shifting all the dead insects from the front of the car after a spirited run back home from the National Meet yesterday! :D

Fitted my Skoda rear window blinds that arrived today for that tinted look.

Dave.

Let the wife take it to her work to find out what is going on with the nearside rear tyre that keeps deflating even though it is brand new!

She gave me her Jazz and I have binned a bag full of rubbish, hoovered it and boxed up all the other crap. Oh and removed a lot of scratches thanks to my daughter taking her hairbrush to the driver and passenger door  :'(

Took it for a drive through a thunder storm / tropical storm up the M1 to the IKEA in Leeds...... Not often the M1 is down to 20 or 30mph because of volume of water rather than volume of traffic.

Give a Columbus map update to V11 East Europe (8128), working fine so far...

Sorry, my bad, to 8129...too fast typing...

Unfortunately I scratched the rear passenger window with bike in the back of Roomy, its taken some of the tint off and not sure if its "etched" the window as well. Its not a big scratch but would rather not have any if possible, very annoyed with myself letting it happen, any ideas if its repairable ?

Posted in Roomster Forum too.
