  • Picked up the new VRS: 2013 Fabia VRS by Graeme_Smith, on Flickr

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

  • modified the cup holder     It's now a hobnob holder

Could be worse - could be an i10 :D

Had the damaged OSF tyre replaced on the vRS. Had to get the tyre online and have it fitted at a certain fitting station as it's now discontinued and my local fitter couldn't source it anymore.

Just wasn't the same having a tyre fitted without the usual friendly chat and service. :(

Stopped in at Skoda on the way back from taking the GF to work picked up some parts ( and screen wash )

Went home and fitted them :) nearly cracked the glass again fitting it   too heavy handed :(

How much did the steering wheel cost you :) if you dont mind me asking like.

It's okay I don't mind. ;)

Approximately 500 euro.

Wow , worth it ?

Yes I think so.

A official skoda dealer here en Denmark is charging 1100£ for a steering wheel in aftermarket like this.

So 380£ is cheap.

Works really well that Mike. Good work

New shocks and cv joints today...

Absolutely nothing. It's his day off.

Changed a dim bulb, which instantly fell into the light housing. A 2 minute job turned into a 2 hour job as I worked out how to get the thing off.

The problem is the bolts hidden by the trim panels...only 2 are really visible and accessible really.

Cue pulling trim panels off, breaking one of the bits of plastic that hold those clips.

That weird light in the sky messed up the picture a little, but all broken up. All of that, plus a couple chunks out of my hands just for a bulb...

To add insult to injury (quite literally!) I discovered said light housing was cracked. No idea where, how or when :(

Despite that, I'm pretty happy having managed to do something with the car myself for once. :)

Gave Mrs T's Fabia vRS S2000 and my Citigo Monte Carlo a quick wash, then gave them a trip round the country lanes 'for ****s and giggles'. The Fabia may be quicker but the Citigo is more fun because you can drive like an absolute hooligan and yet stay well within legal limits (and I doubt anyone but you will know that you're hitting 6000rpm for most gear changes!).

Have you seen any actual gain from the intake or is just for the induction noise?

What colour are those alloys

My car had a good weekend - did an oil & filter change on Saturday and had a much needed wash on Sunday.

For a moment I thought you'd taken car modifications to a new level by swapping your accelerator and clutch pedals around ;)
